my quaterly update
i do read all of your journals...almost daily. i just never have time to update. the first exciting news is that i got a new laptop and asked my boss to pay for it and she said yes! that's the main thing i have learned in this business...it's not going to happen if you don't ask for it. I truly never thought she would say, i thought if anything, she would pay for some of it. it's a nice little $1100.00 bonus. I got an HP entertainment computer. it as 2g of memory and it is 17". i love it! i really want an iphone but sprint won't carry it until 2009 and i'm not looking at switching to cingular. I think i'm just going to get a blackberry for now.
the house closes next month! I can't believe it! we don't have a firm date yet but it's supposed to be march 30th. we have been buying things like crazy but there is still so much to get. i mean, we have lived in 2 rooms for almost the last 5 years. we have no furniture and the things we do have boxed up we don't like anymore. we have slowly been packing boxes but now have no where to put them. i am s ready for my own space. nixon is kinda confused..he keeps saying that he doesn't need to move into a new house because this is his home. i have a feeling that he's going to have a hard time not having nana and papa right downstairs.
speaking of nixon...he is incredible. he is the funniest person i have ever met. he was completely potty trained by october (27 months) and at ths point just goes to the bathroom by himself. and the things he says...today, i didn't understand what he was saying so he gave me CLUES!! here is how the conversation went:
Nixon: mama, there is a monster shadow
me: monsters aren't real honey.
Nixon: uh huh mama, ?ak had them
me: who?
Nixon: ?ak
me: Zack?
Nixon: (sigh) No, mama, ?ak...hmm, let me think (he said this!!) ?ak's Big Music Show!
me: Jack's Big Music Show? that's what you were trying to say?
Nixon: No, just the Jack part...now listen mama, Jack..I watched it with you...it was a DVD. do you get it yet? (this kid is killing me!)
me: ooohhhhh, Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas? that's what you mean?
Nixon: (with a big smile and sigh) yes, yes Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas had monsters! finally mama!
he's only 2 for god's sake and he knows how to give me clues to figure out what he's saying. he also can completely play games on the computer by himself and use the mouse, double clicking and everything. if we don't watch out, he'll totally be smarter than us by age 5. and he is completely in love with 3 year old allison across the street. it's just like they are a married couple already: he just tries to get his mack on and she just yells at him to quit touching her!
