Genesis chapter 22

A couple of friends of mine would argue about the theological implications of God asking Abraham to sacrifice his son. Many read it as Abraham is willing to follow God anywhere. The idea of 'trumping' the Jesus-thing is interesting. I've always wondered why Lazarus didn't get more play in the New Testament. I mean, he was freaking dead for a week!

We read a really interesting treatise on the Sarah/Hagar incident in my Gender and Religion class that I think you'd really like. It's all about the different translations and what 'actually' happened. Let me see if I can dig up the name of the book.
