I have been crippled this week, as a pinched a nerve on Sunday night. I think sitting on a heating pad all day and doing various stretches has helped. Thanks to stars_inthe_sky for some great suggestions on how to deal with back pain!
Aside from that, I got to meet my boss in person for the first time, as she made the 8 hour trek from her home in Canada to Detroit to see the Rolling Stone concert. She's really great, and it was nice and stress-free to meet her in a setting that involved beer. We bonded over our love of Pierre Trudeau and Neil Young.
Last weekend I scored my first official bridesmaid gig, as one of my BFFs is engaged to be hitched next May. I'm looking forward to it, since the other bridesmaid is my other BFF, and we know what to plan and do for the Bride. I also feel HELLA SINGLE that both BFF's are seriously coupled up. Oh well, I'll be the cool aunt to their kids.
That's about it for me...other than having an appointment for a hair cut and color next week that is LONG overdue. I can't wait to tame my mane, yo.

Mel only requested that I not give her anything penis themed at the shower with her mom. I can abide by that, I GUESS. But I feel like having something penis shaped at some point is a necessity.
You have to look fresh to death for that family reunion! Haha. I wish I could've gotten mine done sooner, but I have to schedule with my hairdresser like 3 months in advance since she gets booked and I still get my hair done in my hometown.
I also get my hair done in my hometown! By the same woman who has been cutting my hair since my very first haircut. Fuck though, she knows me super well and she is so inexpensive--she charged me $85 I think for a cut and to dye it two different colors, for which a local salon quoted me $160.
YEAH...cheap hometowns FTW! My gal has been doing my hair since I went super red about 6 years ago. I pay about the same...$85 (including tip) for cut, color, and style. I haven't even looked at places in Detroit because I can't imagine anyone else touching my hair. I love that you've been going to the same person for that long!
It's kind of laziness more than anything, but she's really nice. She probably would have done my hair for my wedding except my cousin who is also a hairdresser wanted to do it as a gift. So my hair lady did my mom's hair and two of my bridesmaids'.
