Hey kids! Anyone have exciting holiday weekend plans? Is it a holiday weekend if I have to come in on Friday and don't get a three day weekend like a TRUE AMERICAN??

My current plan is to meet with a friend (maybe two, if the other one feels OK) and have all-you-can-eat Japanese food and then see fireworks. And then Sunday watch the World Cup final. So it will be a very U.S.-meets-Japan weekend.

My little victory this week was playing chicken with DirecTV by calling to cancel because I felt like I was PAYING TOO DAMN MUCH. They called back the next day and reduced my bill by 65% and gave me free HBO/Cinemax/Showtime. No one else in my life gets how important this is but you weirdos watch a lot of TV too so I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND.
