Hey folks!

I have an important question - can you take a baby to the movie theater? Because there are like four movies I'd like to see this summer and I just don't know if that is something that is socially acceptable.

I'm still making my way through Mad Men - I just watched "The Suitcase"! Wow. And this Stan that everyone speaks of has just been introduced as a character and so far he's kind of a douche.

My in-laws left last Sunday and I am glad to be getting my house back. Though now camp training is starting up and all the staff are arriving and slowing down my precious internet. Youths.

Too bad you can't find the baby matinees that some theaters have.

The Suitcase. Ah, behold, one of the greatest episodes. I believe Elisabeth Moss and Jon Hamm both submitted that episode for their Emmy consideration that year and you need to know all the episodes before it to get the greatest of it, so they oddly lost. Emmy voters, why weren't you watching Mad Men to get it? Stan, Stan, Stan. He grows as a person, so look forward to that.

I hope to see you soon. Gosh, I hope we can find some time to meet up. My younger brother - the one getting married - texted me earlier this week and said I should pack my swimsuit, and I responded with 'Don't have one.' I think he was planning on having a impromptu gathering of people going to the wedding at the pool at the hotel or something and my mom was definitely against it. So maybe I can sneak away then. I just don't know when that is.

I bet the theater that is like 1+ hours away has baby matinees, but not the one that is closer…and if I want the baby to be quieter during the movie a shorter travel time is very important. I'll look into it though!

Yes I hope we can meet up too! My dad is trying to come up to my house on Fathers Day - that is the weekend that you are coming out, right? But yes sneak away if you can - or if you want to meet up somewhere, we could do that too!

You can bring the baby as long as you guarantee he's quiet. Since he's recently decided he's going to be a stripper...maybe? Are strippers quiet? i've never been to a strip club before.

STAN IS A DOUCHE WHICH MAKES HIS CHARACTER ARC ALL THE BETTER.

also, the youths can go to hell YOU NEED THE INTERNET.

This stripper is pretty quiet, usually. But sometimes I have to feed him to get him that way….would it be weird to do that during a movie? No one would probably even know about it.

I DO NEED THE INTERNET. Goddamn youths with their smartphones downloading porn (I assume)

You can totally feed a baby during a movie! I never got into the baby movies with my kids, I forget why not. IMO if the baby is fussing or whatever, you have to get outta there. But if you can keep things quiet, why the heck not? Some babies crash out with the sounds at the theatre. Some... don't.

That is very reassuring, thank you! I was figuring on kind of testing it out the first time and leaving if he was fussy, and I am very curious how he would react to the sounds - he's usually pretty calm and quiet, even when we have the TV volume up pretty high but the theater is a whole other deal.

I think there are little baby earmuff things you can get if you're worried about the noise. People take babies to football games and so on, and use those for the noise. Depends on the baby, and, even with a particular baby, depends on the phase of the moon. Or, something works, and then they're 6 months old and they're Over. It. And, no more movies for Mommy. (or the other way around)

Oh good to know! I had not heard of the baby earmuff things, I'll check those out!

And yeah, I'm pretty sure I have a very short window of opportunity for seeing movies. He used to be incredible in a car seat - slept, was quiet the whole time. Now he'll start fussing after about 1 hour. He's just about 3 months so he is all of a sudden much more alert and aware and he is slowly getting fussier about things that he used to tolerate
