Well, effective immediately, I have taken over billing and claims for my office. I was shaking when I told my boss that I'd made that decision...so now I'm also like Leslie Knope in that I'm doing the work of four people.
I'm so excited guys. I can do all of my regular stuff at work, but I can also BRING MY WORK HOME AND DO MORE WORK. I told my HS BFFs this and they were like, "oh amber. is working your version of porn?" And in a way, it kind of is. It does mean my coworkers are going to have to step the fuck up with answering calls and filing. They're kind of the worst, but in a totally different way from IA.
I have been SICKER THAN A DOG this whole week. Just, miserable. I have gone through more tissues than a person ever should, and my nose skin is dry and chapped and it's awful. I've been having trouble sleeping, and I think I've taken over 100 pills in the last week. I cut back on them today and I'm just down to my regular meds and sudafed. I do have a lingering awful cough right now...I keep having to put people on hold so I can do one of my gross hacking coughs.
On the plus side, I am working until 2 tomorrow and then heading out for sunny phoenix, where it is currently 73 degrees, aka 60 degrees warmer than it is here right now. The high on Saturday and Sunday is above 80 degrees and it's supposed to be sunny. I literally don't know what to do with myself. I'm loading my amPad up with a ton of fic, though I promised my mom I would try to work as little as possible (something my dad also does), so I'm not bringing my computer. I NEED TO LOAD THE AMPAD ASAP.
Other than that, looking forward to almost three days with my mama, in the warm, wearing my ridiculous sun hat and almost no other clothing (bathing suit and cover up excluded from this statement).
I'M SO EXCITED FOR IT TO BE WARM. WELL. FOR ME TO BE WARM. Today, I was like, "yep, it's fine, it's not that cold. and then the wind was blowing and i was like NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE but i'm close enough i don't have to reach out into the cold to get my hat, it's going to be okay." and then when i got to the building and i reached for my purse and the fabric had like, frozen? you know how it gets when it's out in the cold for too long?
and i really wasn't cold except for my face and ears, and then only when the wind blew. I literally don't know what i'm going to do in ACTUAL warm.
That still sounds AWFUL and is magnified even more when you're sick/recovering from sickness.
I also don't know what I will do when I am in actual warmth, but luckily I won't have to figure that out until like, MAY, when it finally warms up here.
I am super jealous that you are going somewhere warm. I'm excited about it getting into the 40s next week, which is nowhere close to how warm I want it to be.

Hopefully the trip to PHX will make you feel 100% again! WARM SUNSHINE sounds really nice at the moment, as does your trip in general.

also i feel your pain because i'm getting sick, too - i totally sit before the clothes straightener last night to open up my nose.

SUDAFED, MUCINEX DM, IBUPROFEN, AND BENADRYL. these things in combo helped me at various points of my illness.

I am psyched that you're taking over the billing and claims part of the practice - that is so cool and I hope you get a big ass raise!
And have a fantastic time in Phoenix! You should go out to the superstition mountains and try to find the lost dutchman's mine…there is gold there.
