I was SO happy to see/meet so many of you this weekend -- ParksCon 2015 was a rOUSING success. The GLPG were so impressed with everyone: you were all just the wonderful exotic land doves we expected you to be. Literally, amazing. #teamamber (stars_inthe_sky, scullyseviltwin, & whimsical_irony) was amazing, I'm so happy we got to spend all of this time hanging out in my tiny apartment. And then last_empress hung out with us a bunch and introduced us to her friend ( ... )

My library just got access to Lynda.com and I was super hoping they would have coding/billing stuff, but alas, no. However, I definitely recommend getting some books on it from CPL. You have a library card, right? RIGHT?

There's also a course through AHIMA that one of my friends did (I proctored her exams for her) but it does cost money, so I'm not sure if that's something you'd want to do.

I'm sorry your coworkers are idiots and I love you. And I'm excited for you to see your mom! Take pictures in the filaments! I am so sad the filaments are leaving.

I am not a punkass book jockey.

There are all sort of crossover things (websites, mostly), I'm just more wondering about the theory of it.

I WILL TAKE FILAMENT PICTURES witn my mom. I have a video of me and my cousin in it, but it's too big to send.

TEAM JAMBER 4 LYFE.

Also, that's insane that you'll have even more to do at work...good lord. When you mentioned something earlier about having even more responsibilities I thought you were going to say that they were going to force you to learn how to take blood. BUT STILL.

You know that post that's floating around the internet, "Be the Leslie Knope of whatever you do?" Apparently I'm doing it at my job, trying to make myself so valuable that I cannot be replaced.

TEAM JAMBER IS THE BEST OF THE TEAMS, BECAUSE IT'S TEAMS MELDED.

Well, being that valuable is a good thing for security sake. Less so for sanity's sake, unfortunately.

BEST OF TEAMS BECAUSE OF MELDING AND CAR SINGING/DANCING.

So glad to hear about the rousing success of Parkscon!

Also, does your boss know that you do the work of multiple people?? Because if not, then when you leave he is going to be very confused when your replacement claims that no single person would be able to fulfill that job

And have fun with Mama Traeger!

I totally assume there will be some leslie knope running for city council issues should i leave before my boss retires. On the plus side, it does make me the most valuable person in the office. kyrieanne says I can't solve all of my problems by working more and taking on more responsibilities, but she may be wrong on this one.

kyrieanne February 27 2015, 02:26:55 UTC
No, what kyrieanne said was that IF you take on additional responsibilities in your job you should request that some other responsibilities be shifted to other people so you don't set yourself up to go insane trying to work a job and a half every week.

No, this was a few weeks ago that you said that.

And I agree that I should do that, and they will have to take on more work. Because I calculated it once, and I think that they each do like, four tasks per day.

I don't remember saying that, but we all know I say a lot of things so I'll give you this one.

We were talking about how incompetent my coworkers are. the gchat conversation went something like this:
"amber you have to make them do things!"
"but i don't trust them to do things!"
"you can't solve all of your work problems by just working harder and more!"
"well, i'm going to try!"
