I want somebody to tell me what I should cook for dinner. (I have chicken. Lots of chicken.) If it were up to me I would just have a bowl of tater tots but I live with people who expect actual food. Nothing sounds good.
I successfully conned people into buying my words and I am simultaneously working on three different articles that are all due fairly soon. The worst part is waiting for the people I need to talk to to get back for me.
Did anybody see the announcement that Obama is making National Parks entry free to all 4th graders and their families beginning next school year? I kind of wanted to cry when I read the article. Fitting that this is announced the week Parks leaves us. In my mind, Leslie is the one who suggested the initiative.
I could do breaded and baked chicken strips or something, but it's pretty similar to what we had last night. (Baked chicken strips with a sriracha glaze.) I ended up with twice the amount of chicken I intended to buy because I asked for four breasts and the meat market guy gave me four DOUBLE breasts. Now I have chicken for days.
And I was so excited when I saw that story about the National Parks!! Will you be able to take advantage? (I can't remember exactly what grade your kids are in)
Yes, I have one going into 4th grade so it's perfect!
One article is about a partnership between Target and a local university where business students are hired as interns and begin work as a manager once they've gone through training and have their BS. That's for my university's alumni magazine. The other articles are for a local lifestyle magazine. I'm doing a chef profile for the next issue and an in-depth feature on the local running community for a summer issue. They're all due fairly soon, though!
I had chicken and didn't know what to do with it this week. I ended up poaching it and making a delicious salad with potatoes, bacon, spinach, avocado and spring onions. I was impressed with myself.

And that other thing is super cool. (Leslie super suggested the initiative, it was her first suggestion upon working at National Parks.)

For the article about the local running community…does that mean that you can just basically interview your running group?
