Is it OK if I post something here? I know I'm not alone in being upset with the Emmys not nominating Parks and Recreation for Best Comedy. Amy Poehler got two extremely well-deserved nominations for acting and writing, and Mike Schur got a writing nomination too, but that was it. No one else got a nod for acting, even though a lot of people thought this was Nick Offerman's year and I figured there would be a nod for either/or Paul Rudd and Kathryn Hahn in the guest acting categories.
Why do people think Parks got shafted so badly? Was it HBO? Modern Family being overhyped? Did 30 Rock take the NBC slot away from Parks? Why does Adam Scott, who can actually, you know, act, get snubbed over Jon Cryer? Seriously, why does Modern Family need so many awards? People are gonna watch it and Big Bang Theory anyway. Parks needs the support, and I worry not getting the nomination (much less a well-deserved award) could hurt it in the eyes of NBC.
