Thesis = Job?

 I need to post more often than every three to four weeks ... Geez.

Life is somewhat hectic right now.  I'm trying to get through my thesis, working with my adviser and motivating myself to do what she actually suggests.  But, according to what she said at our meeting on Wednesday, I should be okay to graduate in May.  Woo hoo!

Now all I have to do is find a job ... in the museum field ... back in Texas.  The search has been disheartening as I've applied to multiple jobs (easily over a half a dozen, maybe closer to ten) and have not heard back from a single one!  My friends in the program keep telling me stories of how long museums take to respond to job applicants, but I need someone to respond soon!  Come the end of July, I need to move, either to a place of my own to start my new career in museums or to my parents' home in Corpus Christi (and I really don't want to do that).

My parents are willing to have me back, though, at least for the short term.  I spoke with my dad yesterday and expressed my less-than-enthusiastic desire to move back home.  His response was encouraging ... I would not be moving back home permanently, simply taking a vacation while I'm searching for a job.

So ... if anyone hears of a collection management and/or registrar job at a nearby museum, please let me know!
