Haha, drawing it would be sort of fun, but I'd have to do a different style for it. Something black and white and sketchy and line-based methinks, since its a kind of dark fic in a way? But yeah, it would take FOREVER.

Well, my Cassandra Goth has a lot of the Troy's Cassandra in her. She can see bits of the future and just sort of knows things, but no one believes her until it's too late. Also, when Don leaves her at the alter she loses it a bit, sleeps with Darren Dreamer and then bolts for Strangetown. Then she starts to live some sort of double-life, where she's herself during the day and Bella at night (kind of). And she has a baby girl who is Darren's, but she's disappeared by then and he never knows.

And I think something really terrible happened to Don's parents. I don't know what, but I imagine that's kind of what makes him act the way he does. Mostly because of this line: "And he can’t even stop crying long enough to remember what his parents looked like." Which snuck it's way in there and which I still really love, but that has no context within the story, but it's definitely a heavy sort of sentence.

The whole Mary-Sue/Daniel/Kaylynn ends up being more Mary-Sue/Kaylynn/Daniel, with MS and Daniel fighting over who Kaylynn should spend time with and Kaylynn just sort of smiles and bakes them all delicious treats and lives with them. I don't know, I've always seen her trying to be really, really nice to Mary-Sue and wanting to be friends with her. And MS wants to hate her SO MUCH, but Kaylynn is just this big bucket of sweetness and she sort of falls for her instead and Lilith HATES it in the beginning and Angela denies it, because my Ang has these oh so carefully constructed walls in her mind, which is why she's my favorite twin. Lilith blasts through everything and everyone and takes what she wants and Ang sits in a corner and looks pretty and it's more like she's a porcelain doll than a person and that's kind of frightening.

And ummm, lots of other stuff happens too. I TALK TOO MUCH.

OMG deliciously long comment.

I agree, and it would probably break the brevity of the little snippety parts if you did do art for it anyway. But there would be bits of colour, especially with all the eyes.

Cassandra is a bit of an autistic savant really. Like she's not really sure how to respond to people around her but she knows things that other people can't or won't know. It's why she wants to marry Don, because she can't really get the social cues that he's this crazy womaniser, but she knows he had something to do with her mother even though no one else really understands to what extent.

And that is definitely a heavy sentence. Nobody becomes like Don without some heavy past, I think.

And OMG I love the way you put together MS/Kaylynn/Daniel, and the way the twins respond is so much like I think it would be. Angela is just this doll that can't think for herself because her whole life is about her and not about other people and yes.

I don't think I'm making sense.
TALK MORE IT'S GREAT

I have been trying VERY HARD to be less talky these days. If left to my own devices I can ramble on and on ad infinitum.

Ooo, yeah the eye colors would be UBER important. That was a BIG DEAL in the story.

Also, I never intended to have the story end with Don/Nina. I really, really didn't. But then she kept popping in and he kept on seeing her eyes and I realized that probably he loved her, but that he didn't understand or want to face it. But it's there throughout the whole thing. Really, I was originally going to have it end with Don/Lillith or Don/Bella maybe? Or no one at all? But, Nina somehow became so very important and was obviously head-over-heels in love with Don, despite all of his faults that ending it with them meeting once again was the only thing that really made sense. Plus I have this thing with stories coming full circle and ending in about the same place they began.

I love Cass. So much. I see her as being completely intimidating, but having the softest, most gentle voice and she's just BIZARRE. And yes, she honestly just doesn't pick up on what Don really is. It's not that she's pretending not to see things, she just honestly doesn't see them. And she knows there's something inside of him that needs, but she doesn't fully understand it all.

Yeah, something terrible happened to his parents, I'm sure. There's also one other reference to his mother in the story, when he meets Bella that night. She mentions that she was 'acquainted' with his mom. And then he goes kind of crazy later that night. I'm still not honestly sure what happened between them really, and I don't think Don knows either. He knows he kissed her and she pushed him away, but he didn't let go and that's about all he can remember. I think he thinks he raped her and then killed her, but I don't know myself if that's really what happened or if she got away and went to Strangetown or was abducted by aliens before Don could do anything else or what. I don't know.

Ang interests me so much more than Lilith, which I know is blasphemous to say, because Lil is generally the favorite twin. But Lil's pretty easy to figure out in my head - she's angry and rebellious and is (IMO) a very sexualized teen. Ang, on the other hand, doesn't really seem like she's altogether real. She's the 'angel'. She's 'perfect'. She goes out of her way to pretend that any darkness or abnormality in her life isn't there. And she has so much farther to fall than Lilith does.

Ummm, uhhhh. My Lilith also has a crush on Darren Dreamer, which is why she's dating his son and my Dirk is just a completely normal, oblivious teen boy. I'm not sure why Lil is interested in Darren really. Because he's kind and mature and sad. And I bet he teaches her how to paint, while Dirk sits in the other room and plays video games and he makes Lillith feel like her opinions are valid and hold weight.

Darren and Nina are kind-of friends. He's intimidated by her in a way, because he feels like she's always watching him. And she is, but that's because she's always watching EVERYONE. And then when Cassandra runs off, Darren is absolutely devastated and Nina sleeps with him, because she knows what it's like to be left behind. Because Don keeps trying to pull away from her and leave her behind.

Also, I think Nina is Lilith and Angela's piano teacher.

Oh and Alexander, Lucy and Beau end up all together as friends and spend most of their childhood dreaming up elaborate escape plans. They just want OUT of PV. This want gets bigger and bigger the older they get.

And I think Angela really does love Dustin. He doesn't think he deserves her, but he's the only one that makes her feel like a real person and she doesn't want to lose that feeling ever.
