"Finishing a Bowler Hat" or "As Long As We Sing It Together..."

I don't want to work on Group Theory. It's that simple. It's worth 10%, I've already gotten like 9.5/10 on other 4 assignments, and 99% on the (take-home) midterm, so this one assignment doesn't really mean a whole lot to me (especially since the final is also a take-home ( Read more... )

Alcohol and other Gypsy issues sherbear82 November 26 2003, 15:16:20 UTC
While I agree that it is disrespectful to go for a drink in the middle of rehearsal while Haley has been so adament about not drinking...... alcohol doesn't hurt the voice as much as people think. I've talked to Bruce Kelley about this. He says that it differs for each individual. Some find milk harmful to their voice. Others, alcohol.

As you can tell by my recent entries, I dislike Gypsy too. I dislike feeling like a CD player (an INCOMPETENT CD player) whether I'm playing alone or with the orchestra. I have huge problems with the way they've staged everything according to the orchestrations on the CD's, which are way different. And things that aren't on the CD, they haven't spent much time on.

In my opinion, things wouldn't be half so bad if Alison and Monica knew just a little bit about music. "Morph" is not a musical term.

And lame get-to-know-you games are pointless at 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning. I got up early to sit in the hall waiting for the game to finish? Pffft.

And the biggest problem I have with the show is how SLOW it is. The dialogue, the transitions, everything. I get so bored watching. Why hasn't Alison done anything about this?

Alright, that's it for me. see you later.

-Okay, so alcohol isn't necessarily that bad on the voice (thanks for the info) - I guess it's just bad for the concentration required.

-It's not that I HATE Gypsy. Honestly, I love the show itself, but there's a lot of production related stuff that annoys me.

-We love you, Shari. Oh yes, we do. You've had John & Jen to deal with for the past months, and Gypsy's not for another month. It's all good*.

-Yeah, having Ali and Mon know more about music and how that stuff worked would make things a lot easier.

-That game we played on Sunday morning WAS a waste of my time, your time, everybody's time. And I still don't know the names of the people in the orchestra, Shelly.

-Pace comes in time - that got worked in 1.1 tonight - now we just have to do it for 1.2-2.6.

*may not necessarily mean good.
