"A Weekend (Partially-Spent) in the Country" or "A Very Livejournal Wedding"

So Saturday morning my parents picked me up in Kingston to drive out to Westport for Nielle (tanela) & Jemy's (cosmiccat)wedding. That had to be to most beautiful wedding I'd ever been to - bright and sunny, out in the country - Nielle & entourage (Mara/mialie & Kari/jadeshadow & Mab2/mabkeeten inc.) looked great, Jemy & co. (Mab1/mab1981, inc.) were stylin', too. Took lots of pictures (with Mab's camera). The best part was the bride & groom's frist dance: Dub-I-Dub on DDR. It was great. I got to show off my l33t DDR skillz, too. komrade (dressed as a hick) and Jessie/jelymo (not dressed as such) were there, too. It was a blast. Kinda neat having the "group of 5" from HS (Me, Mara, Mab, Kari, Nielle) all together again. And to play DDR in front of an audience.

After the ceremony and the sending off of the bride and groom (being chauffeured by Mab & Mara to Toronto), Kari drove Jessie and I back to Ottawa (via Kingston).

Sunday I went out for breakfast with my family and my sister's friend Alison who had just flown in from Halifax. Then (after figuring out what we going to do and a brief trip to Old Navy to cure my cargo fever), I bused downtown to Mab/Nielle/Jemy's apt and promptly beat Mab at a game of magic. Then Mab, Mara, Jely and I ventured to the Musee de Civilisations in Hull to go see Pulse starring Stomp at the IMAX. Talk about overstimulation. Anyways, it was a really neat show, all about different musical/rhythmic groups from around the world from which Stomp! gets their inspiration.

Generating power sta-tion.

So to get back to Ottawa after the Stomp! IMAX we had to cross the bridge on foot since the buses to Hull had stopped running by then. So, we started trapsing off from the Musuem of Civilization to downtown Ottawa via one of the bridges that span the Ottawa River... kinda funny how these things creep up at the oddest times... walking part of the bridge was made of wood, and it resonated nicely... then at one point I noticed the four of us were all walking in unison... so on one of the off beats in between our steps, I scuffed my sneaker along the groud. And it went on from there (and it got crazy! Four musically inclined people with a heavy dosage of Stomp!). DIY Techno Version 2.0. My DDR stomping-in-rhythm skills finally had a practical use! Hydroelecticity!

After the DIYT 2.0 finished, we made our way to find food in d/t Ottawa. We were going to have Thai, but everything was closed. Except the Elgin Street Diner. I never through a burger with a slab of cream cheese could be that good, but it was. A very disturbing evening... Mab asking the waiter for what was in his pocket (which happened to be the bill)... Mara saying something hilariously obscene about Jessie in the way only Mara can. Dessert to go, then off to Mab's apt for Six Feet Under (2nd episode of the series I'd ever seen - hilarious - added to my regular tv watching schedule. So now it's Survivor AND Six Feet Under). Then everybody stayed over at Mab's (since I was too lazy to take the bus home that late). Stole a picture of Mara in her pot-head years.

Monday I headed back to Orleans, had turkey lunch, packed up then got dropped off at the bus station. Met Nitham from my Elementary Number Theory class, and we worked on the assignment for the class the whole bus ride down (rather, he worked on the stuff and I asked him for help whenever I got stuck). And the person sitting behind and to the left of me kept poking me and pestering me. The nerve of some people.

Monday night, back in Kingston - dorked around, did some work - went to pankas's place for 7-player Halo (translation: see how many times Leski can get blown up... I think if I ever make a profile on Paul's Xbox I'll call myself Fodder), and 4-player magic (all using the_gurv's decks, it was entertainging).

Then Tuesday I slept through all my classes. Today I had 5 hours of class including 1 test (CompSciMath - horribly easy) and 2 assignments due (one of which, the Number Theory one, I thought was due Fri... but I got it done, albeit frantically and sleightly-plagarailly, but whatevs).

And now 3 hours of rehearsal tonight, 4 tomorrow, a midterm friday, monday... oi.

All the best to the n00bie-wedz!
