I soooooo ate it.
Bet y'all haven't heard that in a while, huh? So, I just got back from roller blading. I ate it haaard. It suuucked.
I was roller blading around Pacifica, as I often times like to do (since it's different from walking, and far more fun). Linda Mar Blvd, right at the Dairy, just before going up the hill towards the fire station... right after I crossed the street, just before coming to the entrance of the Adobe, my roller blades found a stick about a nickel's diameter thick. Needless to say that successfully stopped my skates, and I flew forwards.
I was wearing wrist guards, and I was wearing a helmet. I never go skating without them. Now I'm glad for that. Knee pads? Nah. The knee pads my mom got me were too small (apparently my legs are thicker than my wrists... who'da thunk it, eh?).
My hands hit the ground first, followed shortly after by my right knee, and lastly my face. My face, however, did not hit the cement (yay!). Instead, my face went smack into my right hand. Only a few cars saw it, so my dignity is in tact.
Injuries! My hands/wrists are perfectly fine. I have a single toothpick prick of a scrape just between my first two knuckles on my right hand. My knee has a scrape the size of a quarter, and has already swollen to attempt to mimic the size of a golfball. I must say, it's doing a marvelous job at imitation. My face is fine. I might have a bit of a fat lip, but as of yet, I can't see anything wrong. It doesn't even hurt anymore. My left wrist guard is pretty well banged up. I find it amusing that I caught myself with my left wrist instead of my right. Though, looking at the injuries, and the scrapes, it sure as hell looks as though I fell towards my right side. I do know how to fall without seriously injuring myself most times.
So yep! I have battle scars! Or at least one. Huzzah.
And yes. Yes, I got up, and bladed the rest of the way home. And yes. Yes, Shawna, I did put ice on my leg, and do the entire elevate thing. :-P
