hello hello. life is chugging along for me still. I probably have one more week in hospital (making my stay aout a month.. again). Not that I mind much. The place I'm in beats Charlies by a mile.
Have been hanging out with school friends (U guys rock), cos, no offence, I find it too hard to cope with people who don't know me really well. And I've been spending time with a girl called Nik who was in the year below me at school. When we need distraction we sight-read music and do puzzles. I've been continuing my aboriginal painting, and i've just realised how long its going to take me to dot a 3 ft by 4 ft canvas!
The other patients are also really nice. Everyone is really different from each other, and its cool having a chance to chat with people I wouldn't ordiarily rub shoulders with. I'll admit that I love interacting with people out of my comfort zone. I think its so easy for people to stick to what they know. And I have certainly learnt that no-one is ever as scary or as different as they may seem. Pople are people. Which sounds trite, i know, but its all too easy to judge by stereotypes and labels.
Anyway, I'm supposed to have gone back to uni, but I haven't yet. I guess I'm avoiding certain people/groups, and doing work and stuff. My brain feels like scrambled eggs and my memory is shot. (no-one ask me what I did yesterday. It will take me 15 mins to think of the answer :P)
oh, thats right. I turned 21. My birthday was nice. I had lunch with mum and some rellies on saturday, spent sunday with nellie and peter and then went to dad's for dinner, and had a 'party' with the girls on my hospital room floor in the evening of my actual birthday. I guess it sounds a bit mundane, but I had a good weekend. Thanks to all the people who sent me birthday wishes etc. Your friendship is very much appreciated :)
Nellie amd I are making beef burgundy today. She has this massive bottle of red wine (1.5 litres) and we calculated that if we multiply the recipe so that we use the entire bottle, we would need 6 kilos of beef, 2.5 litres of stock and 72 pickling onions. That is many many onions. (lise puts on Gimli's voice and says: There are onions... many of them! Which maybe only ali will get :P )
So yes. That is the life of lise. Hopefully I will be 'better' sooner rather than later, and able to see people again :)
