You walk into the room and all the noise around me just stops. The glasses clashing and the people chattering fade away. as you walk past, people stop, say hi, give you a hug or a high five; you know everyone. i know they all love you, everyone loves you, everyone. i think you're too nice to some of them, maybe too friendly. but then again, how did we meet?
at 13, i knew i had to know you. you stood a distance away, hat on, quietly surveying the circumstances. your best friend had never introduced us, but i was going to change that. not instantly, of course, but i would. we stood around a while and finally i talked, said that fateful word-hi.
how is it that you can connect instantly with someone? his blue eyes link to mine at his first glance and he grins, showing his incomparable smile. he stands takling to someone and subconsciously glances at me. i wait, i always wait for him.
you're finally making your way through the people. i see your blonde hair bobbing above the figures and your voice is echoing in the room. you've almost reached me, i can feel you. you find me and smile-hi. youve finally made it to me.
he sits down next to me and i rest my head on his shoulder. he asks about my night, he know it just got better. everyone sees us. they always do. they see the way we are, but no one knows. he and i, are just friends.
i had to know you, had to love your smile. you had to take my hand and tell me everything would work out. but you and i, we're just 'best friends'
fate defying best friends.
