Once upon a time
So, I just finished watching the first season of this (missed some the first time round) and have confirmed that my inner 12 year old is still very much alive and wants a) Prince Charming and Snow White to live happily ever after* and b) the Evil Queen to spend an eternity rolling around in sackcloth and ashes and maturing. That might be a long process as her 40 year old self is clearly managing the impressive feat of being less mature than my rampant inner tween. Seriously she wipes out an entire world (including locking her best friend in a basement in the shape of a dragon) BECAUSE AN 8 YEAR OLD TOLD HER EVIL MUM SOMETHING? Fair enough, it did get her stable boy-true love killed and she has some wicked bad parenting going on, but all I could think was "THIS IS IT? YOU KILLED YOUR DAD/RUINED COUNTLESS LIVES FOR THIS?" Fair enough, I can see her demented mind - the one that can't really work out that if your evil mum managed to manipulate you, an 8 year old isn't going to be much of a problem to her - wanting to kill Snow White. Maybe the Seven Dwarves and Charming as collatoral damange, but axing family members, friends, and random fairy tale characters who just happen to inhabit the same universe...well, at that point you've not only taken the train to Crazy Town O'Evil you own the train company. And the town. I don't want to see her redeemed either (nor Rumplestiltskin). I want my inner 12 year old to dance around in glee and happiness when she is punished at the end of the series. (My innter 12 year old is not a nuanced id.)
