I think it's easier to be the hero who fights than the hero who cares about what should be there after the fight.

Um..."Long Game"?

Would be a bit of an "oops" regarding the messy aftermath and such...

but he does care in the 'long game'...he's just spectacularly wrong about how things will turn out.

Agree. I don't want to be all "oh Nine was my one true perfect Doctor" or anything, but there was something about that season (not uniformly but often) and those episodes are high on my list.

I loved, loved CE and Nine. Sadly more than Ten. But change is inevitable in Who, so I try to whine. Too much.

That should say 'not to whine.' Hmmm...

I agree completely. These 2 eps are what costume dramas should be. I couldn't help but compare "Daleks in Manhattan" and "Evolution of the Daleks" to them, and they didn't measure up in the least.

I haven't seen the latest Dalek ones - which makes me sad, because I love Daleks. But I have a feeling that they will have a hard time matching up to these two. There is something so deliciously unnerving about 'Are you may mummy?' which it will be hard ever compete with.

I am may or may not be terribly biased because I did love CE's doctor so very much.

Those are my favorites, too. Oh, Nine... *sobs*

I find it rather embarassing how much I miss Nine. I think that I got over Davison leaving faster. I guess I was so much younger and more mentally able to deal with change then...
