Home again

Mr. Right and I spent this last week back home again, it was really wonderful to take a final trip together before he hits the sandbox/mountain range again. He goes off in a few weeks to be all that he can be, and army strong and all that jazz. We both had a wonderful time even though the week was full of all sorts of surprises.

I'm so tired of flying though. I think that in April I'll fly back home - it's the wedding of my best friend, I'll just call him Victor-5. So I'll fly back to be there for his wedding and to visit with the family, but I think the next time I go down, be it in the summer or sooner, I'll be taking the train. I had a great time taking the train up there last year even if the layover in Chicago was a bit much. But now that I have found a favorite tea shop out in Chicago I think I'll roam away from the train station long enough to track one down and have a red velvet tea. It's really amazing - like drinking dessert.

Anyway, the reason we went home was so that Mr. Right could swear his younger brother into the military. I'm very proud of him and his wife; it takes guts to do something so big when you're going to be away from your family for a while. It wasn't hard for me to sign in even though I missed my family a lot when I went to basic, but it's a whole different ball game when you leave behind a wife and kids.

My nephew got appendicitis the night before we left, but we were able to catch him in the hospital before he went under the knife and my older sister tells me that he's healing along quite nicely and was home the very next day. I'm relieved. I never would have figured that something like that would have happened and it makes me want to look into that particular illness a bit more. I know it inflames, and if untreated can burst and therefore go septic, potentially killing the person, but what causes it to happen? I'm all about furthering my understanding of such things.

Anyway, gonna be a short work-week and for that I'm a bit thankful. Hitting the AMs right off the bat is a bit painful. Its such a toss up though. I hate having to get up early, but I also love the AMs for how fast the day goes by and how much of the day is left once work is over. Love the PMs for having to go in so late, but dislike them because it seems that by the time I get home, it's eat then sleep. Oh well! Can't have it both ways.

Until next time!
