haaaay, the things i do for...people. :P
yesterday, another fact of life dawned on me: the color white will always attract things that are not white. like mud. berry garden frostea. cheese. note to self: never wear a white skirt when driving on a rainy day, unless you're parking indoors... which doesn't necessary eliminate the chances of getting stains on an immaculately white skirt, but it does reduce the stain risk percentage.
anyway, today i woke up with an awful headache, stuffy nose, itchy throat, dry eyes and all the other icky stuff that comes with a cold/cough. feels like my eyes are going to pop out of my sockets or something.. so i didn't go to work today.
instead, i watched 4 movies. made up for lost time? haha, who knows..
TURN LEFT TURN RIGHT
Starring Takeshi Kaneshiro and Gigi Leung
I haven't watched Serendipity, but i think it's like it. Or perhaps the opposite. Ytipidneres. i'm kidding, obviously. but yeah, it's about two people who are 'destined' for each other, but seem to keep MISSING each other! like the phrase "so close and yet so far" kind of thing. if you like cute love stories, this is for you. it's cutely infuriating! Kaneshiro is a struggling undiscovered musician (violin) and Leung is a writer (translator, actually) for a publishing company, who'd rather translate poetry instead of best-selling foreign novels. this movie makes 'coincidence' pretty unbelievable... but then unbelievable kinda works because the whole movie has this fantastical feel, of two idealistic people who wish that fate will lead them to the 'right one', when fate has just been playing a game of hide and seek with them this whole time. towards the end, all their 'close calls' gets a little repetitive, and the ending is a little weak. but like i said, if you like cute love stories and enjoy character interaction more than plot, then you'll really like this movie. yeah, i think "cute" is the only word i can use to describe it. but it's a nice cute. :)(can you tell i don't review movies very much?)
WINDSTRUCK
Starring Jeon Ji-Hyun and .. i forget
The start was reminiscent of My Sassy Girl... tough (and rough) girl meets normal guy through a not-so-normal situation. she's a cop, he's a physics teacher; she makes him do some crazy stuff he'd never do, and they fall in love. but jeon ji-hyun is a little nicer here.. sort of. this movie's the saddest of the bunch (that i watched today)--but not pathetic-sad, but sniffle-sad. you only understand the title of the movie somewhere in the middle, and thought it starts out as his narrative, it's actually a story about the girl and how she copes with all these things happening to her. yeah.. sniffle movie. or that could've just been my cold. no really, i thought it was okay.
MY SASSY GIRL
Starring Cha Tae-Hyun and Jeon Ji-Hyun
One of the most famous Korean movies out there. and i think it sucks that they dubbed it in Tagalog! movies seem to lose their flavor once they're re-dubbed...like reheated food. i just have to say that the guy really looks like allen! hehe.. and his portrayal of the sweet, goofy, "under" Gyun-woo really works. it's cute! (ahh, there's that word again..)
100 DAYS WITH MR. ARROGANT
Starring... i forget.
the girl looks like ara mina.. as in sobra! anyway, it's about a carefree high school girl who meets this rich, cute, but arrogant college student when she accidentally kicks a can at him while he's driving, which makes him crash his car. instead of forcing her to pay for the damages, he gave her the choice to be his slave for 30won a day for 100 days so she can pay him back. of course, she'd rather not have him inform her parents so she agreed, even though she hates his guts. actually, at first they're always at each other's throats, and it's really hilarious how they humiliate each other.. it sort of reminded me of the intial relationship of Tsukushi & Domyouji in Hana Yori Dango (Meteor Garden).. of course, in the duration of her enslavement agreement, they sort of fall for each other. then the contract ends, then things get screwed up a little, then it's back to a happy ending. but i thought the ending was a little.. forced? there was just something missing. i thought they should have focused a little more on what the guy was feeling after the contract ended, so the ending would have made a little more sense. because after that point, it's like you don't see much of him anymore.. despite that bit, it was enjoyable. :)
yep, that's how i spent my sick day.. glued to the tv. i missed what would have been a lovely evening... :( and it's getting late again so i'd better sleep.
oh, dennis asked me if i was doing anything on friday. i said yeah and invited him to the singles ministry event. he said he might be a bother if he went. his choice. haha... sorry auntie josie.
now all the pastors know he's dating someone, which means he'll probably be closely watched by many!! i don't know really know how to react to that. oh, i know: "ehehe..." (nervous laughter)
