Okay it's been more than two weeks since I got back, so I may not remember the captions I intended to put... but at least I got it done! XD
DAY ONE
First day, first pic. Of food, naturally. XD Chicken rice & fried tofu in Boon..something. XD
And walking around Orchard. This is a normal Saturday crowd, I guess.
Promised to show the sis' baby bump. 8D And the second one is the hotel my mom usually stays at whenever she visits, but it's undergoing renovation now.
Copyright infringement...? XD And a nice, wide street. So organized! Not like in Manila.
The bus in front of us (we're on a double decker). It stopped near the place where we were to watch Angels & Demons the next day (Sun).
Dinner at Curry Favor.♥ That's an empty miso soup bowl, because hunger made me forget I had a camera on me. Deep fried...something. Chikuwa? With cheese inside, I think. Whatever it was, it was might tasty. 8DDD
My curry! Pork cutlets with cheese inside. As if I hadn't had enough cheese already. BUT LOOK, IT'S OOZING OUT. 8DDDD Much love.
Ah busog (full). Oh hey, I wore that same shirt to work today.
DAY TWO
Suntec City. Doing the peace sign makes me look fatter. As well as holding the camera at arm's length. But I do it anyway.
The awesomeness that is
Pepper Lunch. VERY GOOD. Yes, I know
we have one here too, but I'd never been to it. Hence obligatory self-kick to the rear for missing out. Did I mention it was good? VERY GOOD.
Dinner with Achi Grace's family. I didn't want to post the pic with all of us because the glass of Baileys turned my face bright tomato red. You can kind of see it below, too.
DAY THREE
Not many pics on this day, because Karen & I were busy raiding the malls along Orchard. Takashimaya/Ngee Ann City is always a must-visit when we're there, because of Kinokuniya: the place for Karen's manga, and the occasional splurge temptation in the form of idol magazines. Curse you, Japan. (but I resisted)
Oh, and this is the day we took the
wrong bus. -_-
DAY FOUR
Met up with my sister for lunch in
Sakae Sushi. Yes, I know there's one here too, but I wouldn't be caught dead inside unless for competition research purposes (considering my line of work). Besides, it seems yummier in Singapore, hehe. I mean, look at that delicious nattou gunkan. Smells & tastes like a wet dish rag, yum. ...Why are you grimacing? It's an acquired taste..like blue cheese.♥ (though I prefer it fried like harumaki)
And this is Karen proving that
Yogen Früz exists ("Make sure you get the logo!"), because no one here seems to remember it. Sacrilege!
Red Mango? Pssh. Nothing beats the yogurt of my childhood. 8D (But I still do love Red Mango)
Had dinner at
Mos Burger. Again, too hungry that I dove right into my Ebi Rice Burger before taking a photo. But at least you see a pretty, albeit distorted, Scallops Rice Burger on the placemat. 8D
And this is the day the
MRT missed a stop. Seriously, it wasn't our fault. We were seriously paying attention! ..Maybe that's why so many people got off at Clementi.
DAY FIVE
Had lunch with Atchi again, this time in Vivo City, in a Thai restaurant with Tom Yum so spicy that it made atchi's unborn baby squirm. ("That's why you're not supposed to eat spicy stuff!" "But what about Thai women? Their babies turn out fine!" "...Can't argue with that. XD") Heavy construction going on for the upcoming integrated resort (with Universal Studios, a casino & clusters of malls & hotels). I may consider applying for a job there when it's done. :)
Met
Ben & Jerry again after a long time, and still hit it off pretty well. Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chunky Monkey, & Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz. I love their flavor names.♥
Atchi: Take a picture of the udder seats!
Me: What other seats?.... OHH, the udder seats. (Cute, but doesn't the idea of sitting on dismembered cow boobs make customers the slightest bit uncomfortable?)
DAY SIX
Went with Allen to have lunch with my sister near her workplace. They had liempo & barbeque chicken (a taste of home! but Filipino food is a little more pricey); Karen & I opted for Korean chicken/pork bbq on a sizzling plate. And hey look, we match colors! XD Total coincidence.
The foodcourt. I thought it was pretty. And pretty hot, despite all the industrial fans.
Paid a visit to the
Singapore Science Centre in the afternoon. These places are totally fun. Too fun, in fact, that I forgot about taking photos for the most part.
Except for these gems. 8D I think that second one is SO Karen.
DAY SEVEN
The start of the
GSS unfortunately did not match with our almost-empty wallets. But at least we were able to get some stuff. I'd like to call this our Ice Cream Day. It started lunchtime at Bugis with gelato, then snacktime at Plaza Singapura with Swensen's, and ending at Central after dinner with Hokkaido Ice Cream. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
Just chilling at Clarke Quay, before our 8pm dinner at Jumbo Seafood.
See above.
Liang Court in the distance. The Kinokuniya there has a nice selection of idol mags. I WANTED THE FINEBOYS TSUYOSHI SPECIAL BOOK. But no money. T____T Anyway, took a sky photo in honor of his
new project. 8D Okay fine, it's more of the lamp, but the clouds are pretty.
Colors! The tourists in the boat thought we were locals & waved at us. XD
Clarke Quay at night.
After dinner. Again, too hungry to take photos of the food itself. But the chili crab was tasty. 8D
I forget where this was. All I remember is the big bird statue. But here're some pretty lights!
The Fullerton looking grand as always.
Trying to see if I have a steady hand for night shot. Not too shabby.
DAY EIGHT (Last day)
This is me angry at Karen for accidentally locking the keys to the suitcase padlock in her suitcase. It's okay Ren, Atchi still loves you.
Last tourist attraction before we leave. Because my mom wanted photo references for her paintings. ^^;
We love marine life, fresh AND cooked. XD (oyster cake, that second one)
I thought these carvings were impressive.
Lost in the bamboo forest!
Bonsai! There were school kids roaming around on a fieldtrip activity. Made me sad that I never got to go to cool places like these back in grade school.
Mini banana tree!
I don't care what you say; I think the dead tree looks happy. And look, these three trees (try saying that three times straight!) have branches growing in opposite directions! 8D
Gimongous flower, really. Bigger than my hand. And a tree so tall, it can't fit in the photo.
Picturesque gazebo & yellow leaves~
Attempted artsy shot of said scene, with bench & lamp to add to its picturesqueness.
Onto the Orchidarium! It's flowers from here on.
Just gorgeous. I mean the flowers.. yeah. XD
Furfle!
Pitcher plant & banana flower!
Bold!
Pointy!
Spotted!
Pineapple!
I'm running out of stuff to say.
Singapore's national flower (left).
Now entering the secret garden! ..Okay, lame caption, but I like this pic.
Seekrit garden is so seekrit, we can't find it! jk
Funky.
See, hear, speak no evil.
Carnivore! I mean the one on the left. No, the left picture. Just pretend you don't see the eyesore towel I'm holding.
Adorable pic of Karen & Atchi.
Squirrel! (chipmunk?) And another
nameless flower. Don't tell me you didn't see that link coming. XD
Fetched Allen from his Japanese class & went to Orchard for lunch. My architect sister abhors the design of this building. The last time I was here, I remember it being just a grassy hill. And this is normal traffic on a GSS Saturday.
Lunch in Wisma. I was sad that I hadn't eaten noodles yet, so hot & sour noodles made me happy.
Pregnant lady tired from all the walking.
We just had lunch, and now it's time for dinner. Yes, I only take photos of important things. XD Gyukaku @ Holland Village. I feel kinda bad that Atchi & Allen spent so much on us.. but it was OH SO GOOD.
Sausages!
OMG more meat. And it's wagyu. If you're not convinced, check the little sign.
Grill that meat! We had lamb too.♥
Very refreshing orange peel sorbet, especially after all that meat. And the only pic I have of all four of us.
This pic totally screams "tourist!", but I like it. XD
At the airport later that same night. Our flight was at 12:50am, Sunday. So sleepy! And the plane was defrosting. or something.
Aww. Sad that we're leaving. :(
FINISHED! \8D/ I thought it would be too long for LJ, but yay it wasn't!
