If you get the title, then I love you like Nagano loves food.♥ If not, then just know that senpai will forever kick kouhai's uncoordinated & off-key skinny bums. \8D/
BUT FIRST THINGS FIRST.
To add insult to injury, MY PC DIED! As in refuses to load the OS. w00t! So everything I backed up from my external to my HD partitions ARE NOW GONE, hahahahahahahahahahahaha. I laugh at the irony. And so now I'm just filled with an inexplicable sense of.. well of course I can't explain it because then it wouldn't be inexplicable if I could. -_- SO. I was planning to spam you with holiday photos, but now I can't. D: Or at least give you a raincheck on the picspam for now.
Thank goodness for Ryutarou, my office PC (what, you don't name your gadgets? You should try it). How ironic again, that Plastic Tree should be my comfort music, like a friend that's always waiting there to give you a big hug after a stressful day--and in this case, my tech lifeline. ;o; *pets Ryutarou's LCD* Last night I was feeling sad and decided to rewatch ZERO, and reconfirmed that Irogoto will forever be my favorite Plastic Tree song. Ever. For ever. If there's only one person I can say "You had me at 'Hello'" to, it would be that bass intro. Yes I am aware that a bass intro is not a person.
Anyway, back to the holidays.
Christmas Eve was rainy and cold! Not super downpour type of rainy, but just enough to have all the guests in my aunt's house eat their dinner with their napkins on their heads. XD This was the first Christmas reunion in my aunt's new house, and even though less people attended this year, the place felt pretty crowded. That's the only time I realized how big my aunt's old garden was.
We didn't stay too long this time around.. I think we were gone by 10:30pm. But that's okay, because then Karen & I had time to finish our present for our parents. Yeah, sooper last minute. We were actually planning to get them gift certificates to have a spa date or something, but since the spa place is near our house, we kept putting it off. And then finally it was the 24th and the place was closed so we had to improvise.. so we just made them a funny card with an IOU for a dinner date. I dunno, even if it was partly my fault for putting it off, it still annoyed me that Karen had already been on break for a couple days before Christmas and just spent it playing Star Ocean on her laptop when she could have gone out and bought them in my stead. I mean, things like computer ink and paper, she'd rather I be the one to buy them on my way home from work. Well, I guess it's a youngest sibling thing, but sometimes I feel like I only exist for her convenience. -_-; What? No, I'm not breaking one of my new year's resolutions by complaining. I'm just stating what I feel. XD; Don't drag me into that middle-child syndrome discussion--What! No, I'm not projecting! ...Ahahahahah methinks I analyze myself too much.
AAAAAAnywaaaay, while traditional Filipino families have noche buena on the Eve, we have a dinner reunion on my mom's side and then celebrate Christmas morning the American way (I assume..), which is to wake up early in the morning to open presents--but just the ones from immediate family. Allen joined the family this time around, and so he got his own stocking, haha.
The thing about these stockings is that we've been having them for yeeeears. And just recently, my mom said that we're getting too old for stockings full of candy, but my atchi protested, saying that it's one of the things she looks forward to when she comes home. XD And so she got candy, Karen got candy, Allen for candy, but I got cosmetics because candies are bad for me and will make me gain weight. Ah, for such a thoughtful mother, she forgot that she keeps chocolates in her fridge and lets us take some whenever we want to anyway. XDDD
I got 3 shirts, 2 pairs of shoes, a new wallet with M&S gift checks inside, Christmas Eve angpao (which goes straight into paying for my bills), AND! *surprise surprise*
V6's Voyager Tour DVD, Limited edition!♥♥♥ I actually downloaded the subbed Document part from BNS & was totally amused, so I put this on top of the wish list I sent to atchi, just in case it was available in Singapore.. and it was! 8D limited edition, too! 8DDD yaaaay~ I also got a new phone, courtesy of my dad and his plan renewal. The screen of my Nokia N73 just kept dying on me, and my dad just happened to have an extra unit, so I received it gladly. :D It's a
Sony Ericsson K660i (the black & red one). My knowledge of phone models is not that extensive, but right now I'm just glad to have one that works (I named him Tsuyoshi :3).
Christmas breakfast was and is probably going to be the same every year: tuyo, garlic rice & fried egg. 8D Cholesterol-laden & salty, but a much welcome break from the usual rich & sweet foods of the season. We had lunch with my dad's side of the family, and had fresh Chinese lumpia. :3 The one you put together yourself. Basta, it's better than your ubod and shanghai! XD ILOVEIT♥ My cousins brought their babies and they were sooo cute. 4 generations under one roof will always be awesome.
On the 27th was the barkada trip to Tanay. We wanted to make the most out of our day so we left early in the morning. My second time driving up there! 8D Since my first time went okay, I got my dad to allow me to make the 1.5 hour trip again, this time with BJ's XTrail convoying behind my tiny Jimny. :3 Well, we made it there safely, but I think the others would credit that to a miracle rather than my driving. XD
As usual, we spent the day eating and bumming. XD Karen brought along her
Kokology book (you know, those quizzes that start with "you're walking in a forest and come across a bear. describe it"), and the answers some people gave were soooo hilarious once you reveal the meaning. XD
In the living room, just relaxing. Yup, Karen's hair is short now. :)
For most of the afternoon, we played
Mafia (omg there's a wiki page for EVERYTHING O_O haha), and after a while, all the Mafia/killers always killed Migs first because he was good at figuring out them out. XDDDD
We were surprised when Jess, who refuses to watch a horror movie even if her life depended on it, agreed to watch
28 Weeks Later with us before dinner. It's an awesome movie, but all I can say is: STUPID KIDS. D: It's all their fault, hahaha.
Dinner was wiped out pretty quickly. XD My mom installed new garden lights, so the picnic area is nice and bright at night. :3
Karen as one of the guys. XD She's wearing 4 jackets btw. Janny has a graham cracker in his mouth because we were making smores for dessert. :D
I think I should get a bit more sun. Why am I so white??
On the 28th, BJ invited us over to his place for an early birthday celebration over dinner and more Mafia. XD Poor RJ kept getting killed first. XDDD
New Year's Eve was just as rainy as Christmas Eve. D: So weird. We had dinner with my dad's side, but didn't stay for the fireworks this time around because we went to my aunt's house again. Her place has a nice view of the fireworks in Marikina Valley, but this year wasn't as noisy or smoky. Which was nice. But the fireworks from her neighbor's house seemed to go off really low, and scarily close to the
transformer on the street. O_o We left just after midnight, and I think I slept most of the day away. XD
Anyway, I think that's all for now. Ummmmmmm I actually did have some Christmas cards to send, but I...haven't yet. m(_ _)m I'm so sorry! D: Which is why I'll make it up to you guys on Valentines. XD Soooo if you want a Valentine's Day card from me, just send me a
private message with your name & address. :3 If you want to send me one too, just let me know. Hehe.♥
LOL because I am technologically crippled at home, I spent a little too much time on this entry and definitely have to finish working. The prospect of having a new laptop or netbook looks verrrrry appealing right about now. ;o;
