First of all, thank you for the birthday greetings (you guys know who you are♥)! Yeah yeah, I know I'm OLD~ XDDD But turning 25 wasn't as bad as I feared after all, haha. But it's made me think about a lot of things, like what else I want to achieve & where God will lead me in the next few years. I'm definitely still content with being single, and I've decided I'll start seriously worrying about it when I'm 29 or 30, haha. XD But even as of now, I know my mom's worried about her second child ending up single, so I expect to feel some pressure about that every now and then. ^^;
Saturday Singing
My
Saturday was soooo tiring, but I don't think I would have liked to spend it
any other way. :)
♥ Sunday Shopping
So after maybe a total of 3+5 straight hours on my feet on Friday & Saturday, my body ached as much as it did back in high school when we helped build a house for
Habitat for Humanity, lol. I woke up on Sunday morning nice and unrushed, and then Karen dragged me to go shopping with her (but she made Janny think we just stayed at home, ssshhh XD). If you know me, you'll know I don't like shopping for clothes, but Mom surprising me by giving a budget on her credit card changed that! XD So I made it a point to get a "little black dress" that everyone says every girl should have in her closet, and I found one in Debenhams in Shangri-La Plaza. 8D Not as pricey as the other formal ones they had there, but still, thank goodness for my mom's spur-of-the-moment generosity. *___*
And so, after 4 hours of shopping, my feet were just about ready to die. Karen & I took a breather at Häagen-Dazs and almost cried at the increase in prices, but what the hey, I needed a treat. X3 Both of us grimaced at the
Twilight promo poster, but omg the Caramel Apple Crumble is SOOOO GOOD.♥ I am very sad that they stopped producing the Zesty Lemon Sorbet and Strawberry Sorbet here. :( Raspberry is fine, but the mangoes they use for their Mango Sorbet are ripe apple mangoes. Ick.
Apple mangoes are best eaten under-ripe and as is with rock salt (not bagoong, as one would eat with Carabao/Indian mangoes). *_*
Lol anyway, we were sitting at a table overlooking the ground floor entrance (near Tokyo Tokyo.. boo! XD), and there was this Golden Retriever guard dog who just wouldn't sit still. You usually see German Shepards and other vicious-looking canines used for sniffer dogs (or whatever they're called), but this Golden Retriever was just too happy and wagging his tail at everyone who would pass by. Too cute. XD Anyway, we were eating our ice cream to a really random mix of music in the background, coming from the National Yo-Yo Competition being hosted in the activity area of the mall--they blasted Pinoy rock, anime music, 80's love songs, trance..seriously random! We laughed at a guy who attempted to do some fancy trick and got his yo-yo strings tangled up in the process. XD And then Karen asked one of her famous "Would you rather..." questions: If your parents separated, would you rather choose to live with your mother (if she was a famous fashion designer based in Paris) or your father (if he was a famous chef traveling all over the world like those guys on the Food Network)? I chose father; she chose mother. Just shows how different we are, since she loves shopping and I love eating, looool. XDDD
We ended the evening with a family dinner at Kimpura in Greenhills after church.♥ My hair and clothes smelled like the restaurant, but w/e I love eating at the teppanyaki table. 8D It brings back so many childhood memories, lol. 8D
Monday Massage
Monday was relatively uneventful, until I nagged my mom about her spa raincheck and we tried out a place that my mom's friend suggested: TonTon Thai Massage in Libis (near Shopwise). Surprisingly cheap (P275 for 1-hr body massage?), and just what I needed to cure my aching feet/legs/back from the weekend. No sticky oils or anything, just a lot of pressing & stretching. Mmm nice. :3
Tuesday T...tasting? XDDD
This morning I reminded my mom that she promised she'd cook for me. Get this--my mom has never touched a frying pan in her life. But she watches the Food Network everyday right before her evening news and keeps saying "Oh I saw on
Barefoot Contessa...", "
Giada made such-and-such today...", and "
Rachel Ray makes it look so easy" that I told her, "Then cook for me!" XD And so she did (minimum requirements were a pan and a flame XD)! And we were all pleasantly surprised at the outcome, even my dad (who, upon hearing my challenge, hesitantly suggested we eat out instead XDDD).
Appetizer & main dish. Mozzarella, sundried tomatoes & basil fried in..something (I forget)XD And then an herb tomato pasta + lamb with mint jelly.♥

Strawberry ice cream on a bed of fruits (peaches & bananas, to be specific). And my aunt sent me some panna cotta for my birthday, along with raspberry & strawberry compote. *_*

My mom said she'll never cook again. Just because she sweated so much in the kitchen, lol. XD
And I tried that Kanjani8 quiz everyone seems to be doing:

Congratulations, your K8 love match is the sultry and serene Okura Tadayoshi!
Considered one of the heartthrobs of K8, Tada is tall and gorgeous. But Tada is more than just a pretty boy. He's an exceptional drummer, and a pretty damn good dancer and singer too. He's pretty quiet though so you'll either have to learn to appreciate the silence or talk enough for the both of you. Despite his quiet and often infuriatingly calm character, Tada can and does become excited. When he does, Tada goes from being cool and laid back to dorky and very cute. And nothing makes this guy go into dorky little boy mode quicker than food, his one true love. So hopefully you are an amazing cook or at least know where all the good restaurants in town are. Tada can also be quite romantic and he's pretty accommodating. When you're with him he'll probably go along with just about anything you decide. But when he's set his mind on not doing something, often it will be hard to convince him otherwise. And despite his seeming spaciness Tada is no airhead and while other people are yapping away Tada is quietly observing his surroundings. A calming and relaxing presence, Tada hasn't an aggressive bone in his body. And he's the perfect match for the low tension and laid back girl that is you.
And a long overdue photo of the last piece that completes my "new" (well, not as new now, lol) room:
That's the painting that my mom's friend gave me in exchange for my 4-yr old super slow Toshiba Satellite A50. ILAHVIT.♥ I've been meaning to save up for a new laptop anyway (I'm aiming for a Macbook.. or a lenovo), but it'll take a while.
Oh yes, and that's Momo on the bed. XD
