It's now the day after Christmas, and it's raining. No wonder it's been sooooo hot the past couple of days, which is really weird considering it's December and all. It's like El Niño all over again. Oh noes global warming the earth's gonna die in 10 years. DDD:
Anyway, atchi and Allen arrived in the afternoon on the 24th, just in time for the annual Christmas party with my mom's side of the family. KS guy was there (as usual) but kept to himself. He didn't approach me at all, but I was polite to him, honestly! *angelic look* The food was good (as usual) and I stuffed myself (as usual):
+ salad bar (but I went straight for the main dishes XD)
+ angelhair pasta with mushroom cream sauce (I'm sure there's a prettier name for this, but it escapes me)
+ jap chae ♥
+ roast beef (or something. but it was yummy)
+ turkey
+ grilled prawns
+ fish tempura (this and the prawns were being cooked at the buffet table)
+ desserts: buko pandan, apple crumble, mango crepe
+ all the little bite-size chocolates/lollipops/PIXIE STIX♥♥♥ in little baskets in the living room, as well as a basket of fuji apples, oranges & grapes.
I heart pixie stix. I haven't had them in ages. I grabbed a whole lot before the little kiddies finished them all, loool. XD OH and speaking of little kiddies, my 4-year old niece is the cutest thing ever. She speaks in complete sentences and her vocabulary is insane for someone her age. Our cousin was telling us that she learned a new word recently: "communist". XDDD She picks up words really quickly, and overheard it while two of my cousins were talking. How she used it? "That's bad. It must be from the communists." LOOOOOOOL think of a cute 4-year old girl saying that in a cute little voice in cute little complete sentences. XDDD
We don't celebrate noche buena like most Filipino households (I think it starts around midnight?), so the 24th is just dinner & games & food & ANGPAO.♥ But of course mine gets smaller each year because the aunties know I'm already earning my own money. ;_; Anyway, we leave my aunt's house just before midnight so we can all sleep and wake up for the traditional Christmas morning opening gifts thing at our own home, and then have lunch at my angkong's place (dad's side).
Anyhoo, the things I received:
+ 3 shirts
+ an IOU for shopping (from mom, lol)
+ a salmon sushi keitai strap! (yes, i'm hardcore)
+ 2 new sets of earsphones (I knew Karen was going to get me one, but we didn't know mom was too ^^;)
+ Skechers sandals
+ 3 pairs of earrings, 2 necklaces
+ Jan 2008 issues of Cure & Fools Mate
I got the jrock mags from atchi. "That's the band you like, right? Gazette?" Yaaay she remembered! ^^ As for the Cure, "You like that band (bis side) too, right? And I got it because it was pink (Wizard side)" XDDD And later on she was saying that there were other pop magazines (I'm guessing Myojo, Wink Up), and the guys on it looked more normal. XDDD I told her pop magazines were ok with me too, lol. If I go to Singapore in May, I predict that the only stores I'll visit will be HMV and Kinokuniya. Seriously, I can spend a whole day there. XDDD
Anyway, I'm back at the office now, but my brain is on vacation mode and my printer doesn't work. Hence this post. XD
On the 28th we'll be bringing my dad's relatives up to Tanay, and sometime in Jan we'll be bringing my mom's relatives up there. On the 29th, we're going to my uncle's place in Tagaytay, so I'm excited about that. He purchased a huge place, which he's going to develop into a hotel/resort thing, and my mom said the main house is already up. Hopefully it'll be done before I get married, so I can have everything there na (cheaper!).
OH speaking of marriage, two of my cousins (dad's side) are getting married next year, and I've been asked to be the cord sponsor for one of them. :D NIKKIE, KAT'S GETTING MARRIED IN MARCH! And Jhan Ray in September. Which gives me no pressure at all to be next, really. [/sarcasm] If any of the three musketeers get married before me (I have a feeling David will though), then I should really start panicking...which led to an interesting conversation between me and Karen about my options. BUT NOOOOO, THOSE CAN'T BE MY ONLY OPTIONS DDDD: No pressure, really, no pressure.. *sweat* I'M NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER
le sigh. Anyway, I'll try to post pics soon. :)
Over the past couple of days I've been able to watch the Kanjani8 drama SPs (except Double). I really liked them! Especially
Kemarishi! Okay so maybe the duration was too short for in-depth character development (but it's still better than 10-ep Yukan Club's) but I totally flailed at the slow motion killer soccer moves. Ohkura looked so... @_@ And I think.. after watching lots of K8 subbed videos, I've come to like Yoko a lot that I actually (for the first time ever, srsly) squeed when he appeared for his fight scene in the final episode of Yukan Club. Because dood, he can whoop some serious buttz (and Miroku's too). And he's so loud and obnoxious in public, loool.
Dive to the Future with Hina, Yasuda & Ryo was cute & pretty funny. Ryo was so extra in this one though, lol. But after watching that and
Jitensha Shounenki, I've come to think that Yasuda's a pretty good actor. Eito love!♥ Really, I think they're becoming my favorite JE group. Especially after reading their
wiki and how they overcame a lot of challenges and still remained tight.
Anyway, this is probably old news, but I just visited the
Gem Cerey Gazette campaign site. I totally fell in love with the little video XDDD But "Gem Cerey" sounds a little too much like "Jim Carrey", which I have a feeling was their intention to have a play on sounds for brand recall. *shrugs* Well, Gazette really has some great things going for them in 2008, huh? And they look awesome as always. I'm excited to hear the new single, but there's no preview in their
OHP yet. I pre-ordered it with
SID's new album. :D How exciting, this'll be SID's 4th album already. ^^
AND SURPRISE, SURPRISE, nothing new came in the mail this morning. DVD, cards--nothing. I hope at least one envelope will be waiting for me when I get home. ;_;
