Time for a Break
Fortunately, I was right: with SetupLib done and tested, getting the MD4000 Setup program finished was just a matter of a few moments.
So the setup program is finished: a nice single binary that holds its own resources to provide a pretty gui during installation, and also holds the files that it needs to install to get MD4000 ready for use, and also holds a simple little uninstaller to get the game back off the machine. All very nice, all very small.
We're leaving for a long road trip tomorrow evening right after I get off work, so this is a great stopping spot to have reached before our mini-vacation. As I promised, when we get back I'm ready to resume work on the game's login steps: need to get the client uploading and downloading avatars, then creating and using player profiles.
