even though my brother is in iraq, he decided to get married.
they're doing some weird sort of military wedding where you go to a courthouse and someone stands in my brother's place (weird?) and the marriage is official and everything. the reason for this is so that they can already be legally married when he returns from iraq. they'll have a "real wedding"/ceremony later this year.
it makes sense, but it's so anticlimatic. i mean, as a girl, when i get married i want flowers and rainbows and all my family and friends to be there in the moment.
bleh. so now i have a sister-in-law.
it's strange....whenever i lived in mont belvieu, alyssa was like my little sister type. she's about 2.5 years younger than me, but we both did theatre at the community theatre and went to the same church, so we became friends. i was especially close to her older brother, brian. she was like 12-15 when i knew her/hung out with her. so after i moved away, she was on my myspace friends list and apparently, YEARS later my brother found her on there (she was like 17) and they became myspace friends. then, it progressed into him going and seeing her when he was down on holiday. then they were dating. then, she went up to see him in italy and never came back. and now they're married.
im really excited about getting back in touch with brian. i can't believe we're family now!
