Prowler be gone!!
So, yesterday was fun. We've had a prowler problem for about six months now. We've called the cops a few times, but they never did much. Just drove around my neighborhood a few times with a spotlight and that was it. Well, last week or so they tried to brake into my mom's car, the alarm went off and they fled. We found finger prints and foot prints so we know they were there. My sister was in labor so we didn't call that day, we were trying to get out of here. This has become a weekly occurrence. We see them in our yards no less than twice a week, and most times more. We live on a large kinda family community lot. There are four households, My cousin and her husband and kids in one corner, my parents, sister, and the baby on one corner, my uncle and his wife in another corner, and me and Sarah in the last. They've visited all of our houses. Even tried getting into mine once or twice, and did come in ocne but was scared off by our dog. I am so sick of it. I hate walking outside wondering, is someone out here watching me!? Also my mom has two big outside dogs, Toby a chow and Diesel an American Bulldog. They have realized that Toby wouldn't hurt a fly and loves everyone, they'll walk right by him and he just wags his tail. Diesel on the other hand tries to eat them, I'm scared one day they might get tired of him and try and hurt him to shut him up. Not to mention my mom has other dogs, three cocker spaniels inside and my sister has three in there aswell. They can come outside through a doggy door, and the front is fenced in. But what if whoever it is got tired of them barking, and hurt them. If something happened to Angel, my mom would flip. It would brake her heart. We have q large pack of rescue dogs ourselves, what if they hurt ours too. Last night I called the cops and told them I wanted to talk to someone and file a report. So, the guy showed up and looked all around, shined his ridiculously powerful light all in the field behind our house, we showed him the foot print in the anthill we'd found. He really seemed concerned, he is gonna set up patrol around our neighborhood and asked if we minded if randomly a cop car might pull into our drivway and walk around the yard, we were like uh... no. Please do. So maybe something will get done this time. What I am hoping will come of this is whoever is doing it will see the cops around our house all the time and maybe think twice about coming in our yard again. I'm not even obsessed with him being caught, I just want it to stop. The cop spent about an hour driving around the neighborhood looking, and came in the yard again, then he came back again later last night, so the cops really are trying this time. He also kinda told us in so many words that if they show up again we can shoot them, and it be self defense. Since we have filed complaints before and now we have a report, it's enough evidence. I don't think any of us could ever shoot anyone, except my dad but even he'd hesitate. After my brother was shot point blank in the face we kinda have this thing about guns. I know a gun didn't kill him, the guy holding the gun did, but I still get this uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach when I tough one. So yah, I think we'll let the cops handle it.
