I found the tape stash at work yesterday. Scored some excellent shit. Some Iron Maiden, Danzig, Anthrax, Van Halen, Winger, Judas Priest, White Snake, Bon Jovi, and The Best of Night Ranger. I've never listened to Iron Maiden before, and I'm hating myself for it now. Also found some Mr. Mister and Depeche Mode laying around. I swear some of these tapes haven't even been touched since they were released. Thank god for the 80's.

Picked up a couple Ministry albums on Tuesday. It's been a good 4 or 5 years since I've jammed some Ministry. It's been inspiring me all week to write. Our guitar player left the band on Tuesday. I'm a bit disappointed, but relieved as well. At just about every band practice we've had some butting heads and quite a bit of creative conflict. It's very, very frustrating when you've been looking forward to jamming all day, but practice gets cancelled because issues can't get worked out. I guess we all learned a lesson in communication the hard way, but some good will come out of this. Me and Scott started Grinny as an industrial project, but it turned into more of a Tool-influenced metal ordeal. There's nothing wrong with that, but it wasn't the original intent. I've written about 20 songs for the industrial concept that would have never worked, due to the context, so I'm glad that I'll have the time, and the right canvas, to finally present these songs. Everyone will have a chance to work with different people and become better musicians, and maybe we'll come back around to it further down the road.
