Today's the day I go to Thomasville. Whee.

Saturday night Andrew brought over a baby bird that one of his bosses more or less dumped on him because Macon's rehabber was gone on vacation. I speculate it's a mockingbird, and barring that, Andrew thinks it's a thrush of some kind. But judging from its annoying, repetitive chirps (it produced all of TWO different noises), it's a mockingbird. Andrew dubbed him Howard, and Howard is a greedy little bastard. He'll eat 8 wax worms/meal worms and some seed in one sitting, then start screaming for more in 15 minutes. I bet his mother 'accidentally' pushed him out of the nest for that mess. :P He went back with Andrew this morning, and supposedly he'll go home with the rehabber today. Here's some pics of the widdle brat:

Food! Food!

FOOOOOOODDDD!!

You got no food? Psh. Screw you den.

And like every redneck in Georgia, Andrew and I bought fireworks. We set them off behind the old Wal-Mart. And we were responsible-like and doused them all with water afterwards and chucked the debris in the dumpster. I wish I had a job naming fireworks. It sounds like fun. We had stuff called 'Shantungosaurus,' 'Purple Rain,' and 'Piccolo Pete,' to name a few. I had a love/hate thing for the Lightning Bugs. They were really cool, but they pulse this insanely bright light that could induce a seizure... I bet if you lit them off-season, you could convince people they were seeing a UFO. Here's a few pics:

Our teensy arsenal. It looked so... illegal... when Andrew set everything up.

I forget what this one was. Might've been the 'Diamond Cutter.' There wasn't all that much variation between them, at any rate.

We rented Appleseed, an anime flick by the people who did Ghost in the Shell (and man you could tell), and watched it last night. Very good. A little confusing.

And we discovered Melody likes almonds. Not to eat, but to play with. There's one somewhere on the floor that she's scooted all over the apartment. She seems to like how it rattles in its shell.

I'm downloading the Lost Highway soundtrack right now. There's a couple songs on it I like, and Andrew likes the entire thing... so if it ever gets past 6%, we should be good. Hopefully it will be done by the time I get back.

I guess I'll be off. I want to get Bebop's tank done and the cat box totally cleaned before I leave.
