I finished the Skittles song, and I was only about an hour later than I thought. Hey, World of Warcraft was calling my name. Anyways, let me talk about the obvious mistakes and crap. First of all, most of the files I mix are only about half as loud as regular media files, so you might have to turn the volume up all the way to hear it good. I would recommend listening to it with headphones. I haven't heard it through speakers yet, and some songs I have done had a huge difference between listening to them with headphones instead of speakers. Some of the music files are panned to one speaker side, so hopefully your headphones aren't screwed up or you won't hear some of the tracks.
The song is a little muffled too. I did a high hiss reduction on the whole thing and it resulted in the whole file being muffled a little bit, but I thought it was better sounding quality with a little muffle instead of a constant hiss.
The biggest thing that annoys me is that there are some long pause/pop/click thingys. The program I used to make the digial files like the violins and what not was a demo and it only lets you export files of small size so when I pasted these together in the mixing program there was a small delay at the final mix. So you might notice a pause in between certain parts of the song that aren't really suppose to be there. Sorry for the long explanation, but I am new to recording stuff and I make a lot of mistakes.
Now on to the story of the song. It's about Skittles of course. You know how you have a huge craving for something like Skittles and when you finally get them and start eating them everything seems right and beautiful with the world. Well, that is what the first half of the song is about. As you get further along, the song tells about how you continue eating more and more Skittles because they are so good even though you know you should stop. Then you eat too much and you get sick. That is why the song goes dark at the end. It's the soundtrack to you getting sick. So, there you go. Nothing spectactular, but I had fun. Now I gotta get back to working on some Speed Metal.
Let me know if the link, or the file is screwed up or anything. And dont forget, listen to it with headphones first. Actually, I just finished it listening to it through speakers, and it wasn't too shabby, so I dont' care. Do what you want.
