i have converted jeff, he has bought a mac. he has been holding off buying himself a computer for a while because we've bought a bunch of equipment for other people at church. plus, he's been trying to decide whether or not he should go mac or pc. he finally got one for himself two days ago.

I completely agree that seeing/hearing different viewpoints makes a person more well-rounded as a whole. It is very sad that there isn't more diversity among Christian leaders in this country (and probably the world, though I'm completely ignorant of the diversity or lack thereof outside of USA). I do think it would be nice to have more female "powerhouse preachers" so that more people could be reached. I also think it would greatly contribute to Christian women's emotional/spiritual health.

It sounds like I just mis-understood your definition of role model. If you have lots of them, I think it's completely healthy. It sounds like you're looking for a smorgasbord of role models to give you a good complete model overall. I wish I could do that, because it sounds like a very good thing to do! I have a tendency to have 1 and then try to imitate them in everything. This has basically robbed me of much of what God had in store for ME and made me miss out on what He wanted ME to do for Him. So for me and my personality, I can't really have human role models.
