The unseen barrier

Sometimes I wonder if I laugh because I find something amusing, or if I laugh simply because it puts me in the only emotional state I feel at ease in. It is a simple enough thing to do, laughing that is. We all have something we can laugh at forever without growing tired of it. It serves as not only a relief point, it is uplifting and contagious as ( Read more... )

I've always felt that people deserve a lot more than that and it just pains me when I can do nothing more than the minimum.

But thank you Uri, your comment made me smile.

I always think people deserve more than that. I actually posted an entry once about this, when I found it so difficult to comfort a friend when he needed so much comforting. I found myself unable to do anything but send e-hugs, which are rather lacking. :(

But then many of my friends also told me that the best thing to do is just listen, and in the end, my friend seemed to become okay too as I listened and tried my best to cheer him up. :)

I guess I should realize it works both ways. I mean there has been many times where I have a problem that I just want to get off my chest, just talking about it has helped with the situation, and even if said problem still exists after that...it'll become easier to bear.

For some reason though, I usually don't think this works for anyone but myself, it is about time that I realize that it is universal.

I seem to face a lot of the same problems that you have mentioned here...

I also dont know how to comfort someone that I feel is upset or in pain. All I seem to do is try to crack a joke...Which doesnt usually work out well, because who wants to laugh when they are upset? I wish that everyone on my friend's page...or online friends in general knew me in real life...seems that in person I can cheer most anyone up. Probably because my goofy face, but whatever works right?

I dont know where i was going with this, I guess I was just trying to say I know where you are coming from...I hear ya man!

(*hugs*)

It seems so much easier to cheer a person up in person then to try the same thing over the Internet. Such a simple procedure becomes very complicated when all you have to work with is your keyboard.

It is nice to know that people can relate to this though and I'm not just going insane.
Thanks Ash.
