The first time I saw Ryuuken I went hello, who are you tall, silver-haired and snotty? May I pair you up with someone to boink that bitchiness right out of you?

I love that Isshin is a shinigami. There is quite the speculation as to what division he was captain of and why he left SS. I have some theories and they are completely unfounded, but they make sense to me. Which probably means they're waaaaay out in left field.

Yeah. I liked him too, and then I went and found Quincest. Dude. So wrong. But yet... @_@

I thought he might leave if he wanted to settle down? And put his family out of harm's way since his job is dangerous. Or, like deities in some myths, he got stationed in the real world, fell in love with a mortal like you're not supposed to, and got punished for that. What are your theories?

Well, you know how Ichigo is stupidly strong in the reiatsu department? I think the reason for that is that Isshin is the King an Ichigo the prince. The King has been missing for several years and nobody knows where he is.

Isshin still has crazy amounts of reiatsu even though he's be in a gigai for close to 20 years (which should've drained it all out of him as that's what the gigai do if you've been in them too long). There's also the fact that if Isshin was in SS, he was dead. Yet he managed to produced not one but 3 children with a mortal. I don't think any regular run-of-the-mill shinigami could do that.

Urahara knows who Issin is as does Ryuuken. They both go way back. I can understand Urahara as... well... he is a fellow shinigami. Ryuuken? We've no fucking clue as to how they met (possibly in university?) or how Ryuuken found out Isshin was a shinigami and not only that, but a Captain as well.

And even though the manga is quite a bit ahead of the anime, we STILL don't know that *grumbles*.

Dude, your theory makes so much sense - I just got to the King's Key part. And I thought only Urahara's gigai (the one Rukia was in) saps powers?

Also, Aizen's targeting Karakura, where Isshin is, so maybe... hm. I think your theory is the best I've heard so far, and it fits. I wouldn't be surprised if you were right.

It makes perfect sense to me. It would also explain the high level of activity in the town as Isshin probably draws that shit in never mind Ichigo and possibly even Urahara. Rukia was also assigned to the town and while I hate her and wish she'd die, she does have enough power to be a lieutenant. Why would they assign somebody that powerful to look after a no-name place if there wasn't something/somebody important there?

Of course, I could be totally talking out of my ass here.

She's got lieutenant level abilities, seriously? We just see her keep on getting pwned (right now most recently by Grimmjow). She's okay, I guess, I probably dislike Inoue more than Rukia, why is she so disliked?

Also, if Karakura is important, how come Afro-head got assigned there XD

Somewhere in the manga it says she does but that Byakuya made some sort of promise/deal thingie that she'd never be promoted to lieutenant in a bid to keep her safe or something. yeah. That's worked out really well *snorts*.

Ichigo is now in charge of patrolling the town and he's Captain level so having some random dude as back-up makes sense. Everybody needs canon fodder, right?

Canon fodder XD Cannon fodder! heh. Fanon fodder.

Yeah, I saw that in the anime too. This thing is just full of surprises sometimes.

Every now and again Kubo has a WTF? moment, but for the most part, he's got a good thing going here with solid plot and action. Right now, it is filler arc, but it's actually a really good filler arc. Be advised that right after the Bount arc is some really bad filler. Be wary of the cake episode. You'll know it when you see it.

? I just finished the Bount Arc and it's some way into the Arrancar arc right no. Don't see any filler yet, but everyone (bleach otaku friends) are complaining about the filler.

I don't care, this is a great anime

They needed to let the manga get ahead of the anime. The filler comes part way through the HM arc. Quite a few people didn't like the Bount arc (that's anime only, BTW), but I liked it as it gave more depth to the characters.

WHAT THE HELL CAKE REJECTION LEADS TO MENOS GRANDE.

Most retarded episode ever... but oh well, more face time for Yumichika >_>

*bawahahahahahahahaha*

Told you you'd know it when you got there. That is the worst of it though. The rest of the fillers are fairly benign.

Also, Ryuuken should cut Uryuu some slack... seriously. You could at least be proud of your son taking down a Bount, or something. Poor kid getting roughed up like that.
