1) What Author Do You Own The Most Books By?
Man, that's a tough question. I own just about every book by authors Nora Roberts, Jane Austen, Brenda Novak, Roald Dahl. But considering how big Nora Roberts' backlist is, I'd say I probably own the most of her books.

2) What Book Do You Own The Most Copies Of?
The Harry Potter series books. I own FOUR copies of Deathly Hallows (including one signed and the deluxe edition) and TWO copies of Sorcerer's Stone. I also plan on buying the paperback collection once they are all finally released this summer.

3) What Fictional Character Are You Secretly In Love With?
Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. Also, most of Linda Howard's male characters, and I have a thing for sports heroes from romance novels. Don't ask me why as I'm not a big fan of sports in real life.

4) What Book Have You Read More Than Any Other?
I've read the entire Harry Potter series multiple times, but probably either Matilda by Roald Dahl or Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

5) What Was Your Favorite Book When You Were 10-Years-Old?
Honestly, I don't remember. Probably Matilda. Though I still love, no matter how dorky they are, the Baby-Sitters Club series books and I was definitely reading those when I was 10.

6) What Is The Worst Book You've Read In The Past Year?
Can't remember. I tend to forget books I didn't like very quickly. Recently, I was very disappointed with Lisa McMann's Fade, a YA book.

7) What Is The Best Book You've Read In The Past Year?
In 2009 so far... um, I don't think there has been a best book yet. Though, Hard and Fast by Erin McCarthy (a romance writer) is definitely going to make my top 10 romances this year. It comes out in May and it is sexy and romantic and fun! For YA, there just hasn't been a standout novel for me yet.

8) If You Could Tell Everyone You Know To Read One Book, What Would It Be?
Pride and Prejudice. Yep, LOVE that story.

9) What Is The Most Difficult Book You've Ever Read?
The Red Badge of Courage by um... Stephen Crane. Also the worst book of all time! IT'S BORING!

10) Do You Prefer The French Or The Russians?
TOUGH! I love everything to do with France, including its writers, but I absolutely adore Russian literature to the nth degree even more.

11) Shakespeare, Milton Or Chaucer?
None of them really.

12) Austen Or Eliot?
I bet you can't guess which side of the coin I'll land on here, lol.

13) What Is The Biggest Or Most Embarrassing Gap In Your Reading?
Nonfiction. I just don't read it much at all. I'm lucky if I complete ONE nonfiction book a year.

14) What Is Your Favorite Novel?
I'm beginning to repeat myself here but... Pride and Prejudice.

15) Play?
I don't think I have a favorite play per se but I do enjoy studying drama. I distinctly remember reading Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House in undergrad and liking it. Don't remember why at this point, but I know I did.

16) Poem?
Hope by Emily Dickinson

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

It's become overanalyzed at this point but I still really like it.

17) Essay?
Nothing comes to mind.

18) Short Story?
I wish I had my Russian books here so I could remember the name of one of my favorite short stories or even the author, but it's not happening right now. But it is good!

19) Non-Fiction?
Um yep, reading gap, here I come!

20) Graphic Novel?
I'm really enjoying Sand Chronicles, a manga series right now.

21) Science Fiction?
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. But be advised, I read very little sci-fi. I'm trying to get into it more, but it's still a reading gap area for me.

22) Who Is Your Favorite Writer?
Jane Austen and then there are a host of Romance writers and YA writers I like (right now, fave YA is probably E. Lockhart)

23) Who Is The Most Overrated Writer Alive Today?
Going to COMPLETELY disagree with ephramyfan fan here but it is DEFINITELY Stephenie Meyer. And she cannot write to save her life! She is terrible.

24) What Are You Reading Right Now?
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson

25) Best Memoir?
Nothing. My own perhaps.

26) Best History?
Oh man, there are a whole host of Holocaust and WWII era history books I could list but I will save you from my historical passion unless someone asks.

27) Best Mystery Or Noir?
I'm not a huge mystery reader. I like Janet Evanovich's lighthearted Stephanie Plum books, though even those have become very tedious in the past several years. I don't think you can go wrong with Agatha Christie though.

Today (and tomorrow) I have been attending a library conference at a local university and just walking around the campus has made me kind of nostalgic for my college days. I mean, I don't want to have homework or classes right now, but just that feeling of being in college, it's kind of nice.

The conference itself has been both equal parts useful and boring, which I think can apply to just about all conferences. But, I'm glad to get the opportunity to go and meet some other Colorado librarians. After all, as much as we don't want to admit it, it's all about networking, even in the library field.

Now tonight, finishing up laundry, going to watch last night's Lost along with my usual Thursday night shows, The Office and Parks and Rec.
