And obviously, not around, lol. I've just been feeling sick lately. Massive headaches, my leg pains are back and worse than ever, sinus pressure... it all adds up to one frustrated and sick Sarah.
This weekend was homework, more homework, visit to dad, and sleep. That's about it, lol.
But the good news is my birthday is in two days. I just hope I'm feeling good enough to do something. Not sure what. Tomorrow I'm going to make cupcakes for my bday though. I don't want a cake this year I decided, I wanted cupcakes. I'm going to buy Halloween decorations and decorate them in orange and yellow and black. Should be fun. Also, I know for sure I'll be going to Applebees for dinner cause it's my favorite restaurant ever, but besides that, probably no big plans. It's hard when your birthday falls in the middle of the week. I wish there was a good movie out to see but there's nothing until the 20th (Marie Antoinette!). Though, is The Nightmare Before Christmas out yet in 3D? I'll have to see. That could be fun to go see.
proteancharm, I want to thank you for the wonderful birthday card! I totally adored it. That crossword puzzle was immense fun and it really brightened up my Saturday. You have the prettiest handwriting by the way. It's really elegant. Thank you so much!
Been watching tv of course, just not having much to say on it.
School has been keeping me very busy. I have a presentation on the 26th and I'm busy writing that up, writing the paper and just preparing. I hate presentations but at least this professor lets us sit down to talk which I like because then I won't fidget around so much. The topic is on the Library of Congress subject headings and their distinct cultural bias. It's been a lot of fun to do actually, it's just that I hate giving presentations.
I'm almost done watching the BBC's Jane Eyre and I have to say
I'm just not enjoying it all that much. I love the book, I do. Not quite as much as Pride and Prejudice, but still, I love Jane Eyre. I think my main problem is that I don't like Toby Stephens as Rochester. I adore Colin Firth as Darcy, Richard Armitage as Thornton, but Toby Stephens isn't making Rochester work for me, and since I admittedly watch these shows mostly for the storyline, but also because I love the lead males more than I can explain, it's just been disappointing. The actress playing Jane Eyre (can't recall her name presently) is actually pretty good I think. I had to warm up to her a bit, but I've grown to like her. However, since my problem is so much with Rochester, it's been making the special kind of slow for me. Makes me want to rewatch North and South and P&P to recapture just why I love these specials so much. I do have high hopes though that the BBC will eventually do Wurthering Heights which, next to P&P, is one of my most fave stories.
And really, that's all I've got to say I think. Oh except this,
Meredith high on morphine??? The funniest thing in the world. Honestly, I actually LIKED her in this episode and I never like her since like the first season.
Also, Burke and Cristina still kill me every time.
The Denny/Izzie stuff did nothing for me. I remember reading on
__shelovedmagic's journal how amazing the ending was and I was just left blah and I think that's because I detested the Izzie/Denny stuff last season.
Alex grows on me more and more every episode lately. I hope he decides to go into gynocology cause I think he'd make the perfect doctor for it.
And that's it. Now I really do need to get back to work on my paper. Happy Monday all!
