For anyone interested in a truly powerful and invigorating, if complex look, at the role of modern identities in light of the Holocaust, you can't go wrong reading Mirrors of Destruction by Omer Bartov. I've been rereading parts of it for my senior seminar paper and yet again I'm just really drawn into the insights he makes about the nature of war and the individual. It's pretty heavy stuff, but it's also amazingly creative and insightful. So yeah, there's my book rec of the day, lol.
Also, if anyone is interested in reading my senior seminar paper thus far (because I know you all are, lol) I'm more than wiling to email it to you. I could use some opinions and feedback. I'm currently at 29 pages and I fear that some parts are more rambly than knowledgeable. I know
bottle_of_shine mentioned that you'd be interested in reading it at some point, so if you'd like to look it over thus far, I'd love to send it to you.
But if you don't want to read it, I'm not offended in the least. It's a paper geared towards a professor, and as such, I'd like to think it's pretty highbrow and intelligent sounding. Definitely not fun reading by any means.
Ok, back to work I go!
And look at this glorious new Hedwig icon! It's grand.
