Gilmore Girls

For me, this was another enjoyable episode in a season that has only been so-so.

The fight between Logan and Rory, saw that coming a mile away, right from the beginning of the season. It was obvious those issues were festering between them. However, I was fascinated with Matt Czuchry's neck muscles as he yelled at Rory. I think this is the most emotion we've seen from Logan all season. And the Life and Death Brigade... I hope they do something more with that. I want to see more antics from that group.

The guy yelling "Shut up" in the background when Colin and Finn were yelling... good stuff. I always want to do the same when I hear the drunken bellows of my fellow college students outside. Dumb people.

The soccer scenes were funny and since I know where that is going, I won't say more about it. But yikes, I had no idea childrens' sports were so competitive nowadays. But then, I've never been a big fan of athletics.

Lorelai and the Paul Anka really touched me, but it was so obviously a metaphor for Rory. Poor Lorelai.

Jess! The best part of the episode. For some reason I thought he had dedicated his book to Rory, but I guess not. Anyway, I think his appearance was pretty good. He still looks hot, but yet I don't sense the emotional tension between him and Rory that was there in S2-4. It's like they are just good friends now, but I suppose that's not a bad place to be. Either way though, I was happy to see Milo back on the show.

Kelly Bishop put in another spectacular performance this episode. I have to say, in a season that hasn't been all that strong, her performance, IMO, has only gotten better.

Next week's episode looks like another good one. Let's hope that reunion wasn't a dream sequence or something cause that would stink. It's time for the Lorelai's to reunite.

And now for a literary question... Yusuf Idris' short story "House of Flesh." Is it allegory or metaphor??? I don't know! Sometimes I get so confused between those terms.
