Rewind back to Thursday night for a moment, oh, about 10pm... as I was walking down Penn Street toward the Westin, as I approached the corner I saw this really cute, beautiful white wolf with white hair crossing the street heading for the DLCC. At least I thought she was a wolf. Anyway, I wanted to meet her and get a pic, but by the time I got to the corner and was able to cross, she was gone. :(
But, on Saturday, while I was getting ready for the fursuit parade, Kaya Cheetah got a nice picture of this attractive wolfess for me on the second floor of the Westin hotel:
Viniger. Beautiful! Thanks Kaya for sharing this pic with me! 12:51pm.
...and she also got one of:

The fursuit parade was fun. Not bad at all for me... actually, the hurried "walk" from the Doubletree to the DLCC in the mid-day sun was far more grueling for me than the parade itself. Plus, got to take into consideration I was only wearing a partial, so I probably didn't bulid up as much heat as the full suiters did. It was fun walking behind Kijani, with his animated antics and piece of zebra meat, which I heard some people comment on. I had brought a piece of furry ham to along to the con, that Luka lioness had made and given to me last year, but I was in such a hurry to get to the parade, I forgot to bring it. Oh well, that freed up my paws to show off my pawpads. :) The parade winded in through the dealer's room, and I saw Xian Jaguar there cheering me on, and I acknowledged her with an enthusiastic wave.
At the end of the parade, in the S.O.P. ballroom, I got some water and cooled off for a while, and spotted Jade wolf, who was a favorite of mine from last year, so I got to tell her how much I appreciated her fursuit (she's really cute). Ran into Nezu Ookami, who was also debuting a new fursuit partial this year, and talked with him briefly.
Not really a fursuiter per-say, but I thought she was really cute. 2:45pm.
After the parade, I went galavanting about the DLCC in fursuit, heading back into the dealer's room. I noticed that my badge commission was finished and on display at Xian Jaguar's table, so after I got her attention amid another customer or two, I pointed to my shirt pocket, and she exchanged the money in my pocket with the new badge. Turned out beautiful, as I knew it would; I'll be posting this badge on FA at some point in the future.
About halfway down the first aisle, I spotted Tiffany meandering down the next aisle, so I bounded over and "signed" to her that I would like my picture taken with her, and she kindly obliged. Yay!
Leostarr and Tiffany. This may well be my favorite picture I brought back from the con this year. 3:07pm.
I finally found the Chakat's Den, and surveyed the publications available for sale there, planning to come back at a later time to make my purchases, out of suit. I could have spent a lot more time there in the dealer's room, but there were a couple of panels coming up that I wanted to attend, so I left and headed upstairs.
Stopped in at Cartooning Basics with Mike Kazaleh, already in progress, which turned out to not be what I thought it was going to be. I had expected a drawing class, with everyone in the room participating, but it was actually a verbal discussion on techniques of cartoon animation, more on the technical side. Ah, well. I sat there in my fursuit partial, realizing that this was the first time I had gotten to sit down since the fursuit parade. I zoned out for a few moments here and there, enjoying a couple of drinks of cold water through my flexible straw while I listened to the discussion.
At 4:00pm I headed on over to the Friendly Feline Furry Fiasco, which, as it has been in years past, was great fun. This time, I got to attend in fursuit for the first time! Taru the lioness was sitting up front again, like she did last year, full of fun antics with a flyswatter, frantically trying to swat the little red dot on the wall someone was periodically projecting with a laser pointer. It was well attended, and there were a number of fursuiters at this meet this year. Blizzie (my favorite from this year) showed up and entertained the group with her witty comments and adorably cute sounding voice. As in years past, we went around the room and everyone got a chance to briefly introduce themselves to the group. I make it a point to never talk in suit, but since I was among fellow furry cats, I made an exception and verbally introduced myself outloud. I made an error, though- I said it was my 3rd furry fiasco, but this 2012 meet was actually my 4th. I've attended this AC panel in 2009, 2010, 2011, and now, 2012, and enjoyed it every time!! There was a cat fursuiter group photo taken at the end. Many thanks to Mizuhiro Neko for hosting this fun panel! Here is a short video from the photoshoot I found on YouTube (not mine, but I'm in it! uploaded by SurvivorMurk):

Well, time kept ticking, and as much as I wanted to continue walking around in fursuit, I had to get back to my room to prepare for the evening events, which would be out of suit. I walked back to the Doubletree, once again enjoying a few horn honks from passing vehicles, and finally de-suited in my room. Went to get supper at Fernando's, an Italian sub, which was great, and then I headed over to the DLCC to get in line for Uncle Kage's Story Hour.
Ran into Birdie during the interim between Uncle Kage's Story Hour and the Masquerade. 8:42pm.
I thought the Masquerade was good this year. Sardyuon appeared in it, which was great because I had missed his earlier performances, and now I got to see him. Provo Cheesebeagle and Tigris did a theme-related skit which was entertaining. All the performances seemed to go smoothly, with no microphone problems or other such interruptions. And before I knew it, it was over.

Ok, well, I got back up to my room at a quarter after 11, putting some things away, trying to get some things ready ahead of time in order to lessen the amount of pressure that would be on me Sunday morning. The closer it got to midnight, the more I began to feel tired, and I carefully considered the effort that would be required to suit up again and walk to and from the Westin/DLCC (alone late at night), not to mention the energy drain from the dances and more lost sleep. I finally decided to skip the dances because I needed the energy reserve for Sunday morning, and I actually went to bed (12:30am-ish?). As I lay there falling asleep, reflecting on all the fun of the day, I just then realized I was missing the Drum Circle, which was to begin at midnight on the rooftop of the DLCC. Oops. I had planned to attend in my lion partial, and was going to say hello to the nice girl who was hosting it, as I've talked with her here and there on the Anthrocon forums, and said I was coming. Well... midnight was awfully late to begin a panel, I thought. Had I been staying in the Westin, it might have been different. Without thinking about it too much more, I stayed in bed, and... drifted out.
To be continued with Sunday, June 17, final day & wrap-up...
