Someone keeps not understanding me and misstating my beliefs, but has said that s/he does not wish to communicate on the issue anymore (has said so quite firmly, so I am not going to reply). As the person is completely irrelevant to my life, this doesn't matter. But I am annoyed, so I will post in annoyance and as a warning to my friends, whom I actually care about.
You may either state that you do not wish to continue the discussion and want to further replies OR you put in more content about your side of the argument, but if you do both, rebut and say do not reply, I will consider it an act of deep rudeness and hostility.
I have no problem with someone deciding that a conversation is not worth pursuing or an understanding too much work to be worth it. But to try to both get the last word in and slam the door is not something I consider to be acceptable, ever. Either the person is important enough to communicate with, then do so, or irrelevant enough that you can accept not communicating that point to that person (as I have done here). Choose.
And yes, I'm more easily irritated than usual, but I have much I must do today, and I do not feel well. I don't need petty annoyances online. If you want to annoy me, let it at least have some substance to it.
