Sometimes when I'm writing I come up with something I really like, and hope others appreciate it too. Most of the time, however, they seem to fall through the cracks.
The notable exception is the South Park reference in "
What Happens in Gimmelschtump". I swear it was the hardest thing I ever wrote, because I was laughing so hard. Most people picked it up right away.
"
A Perfect Match" is full of those little instances I loved to write. Someone actually picked up on a reference to "Pirates of the Caribbean" in an early chapter, but most of the stuff I really like -references or not- has gone unnoticed.
I know it's too much to expect that everyone will pick up on everything. I'm just new to publishing fiction of any kind in any media.
By the way, I got chapter 12 of "A Perfect Match" up, by using the Lecture as Exposition trope. The gruesome stuff will be (appropriately) chapter 13.
