Way behind on my updates, AGAIN.

Writer's block really sucks, especially when you actually have something to write about.

I mean, I haven't even done a meme in weeks!

Well... I'll do it one item at a time.

  • Two weeks ago my dad had to go to the hospital. As I found out later, he had't been taking his meds, and while his overall blood pressure was within normal-ish limits, his circulation was really bad, to the point that his leg failed him and he fell on the way to the bathroom. My uncle Roger got him up but Dad fell on him on the way back. Poor Roger.

Fortunately it was mostly a scare, but the doc apparently ripped dad a new one for being so negligent. Apparently the scare has had an effect and dad is on a diet.

Fast forward a week. Another exam shows he had some sort of cyst on his kidney. We'll know more after more tests.

It sucks not being able to travel to Panama yet. Dad is 70, his health is deteriorating and he needs someone to keep an eye on him. Marielle is going to Panama in December. I wish I could go along, I haven't seen him in two years.

  • I officially started working as my niece's nanny on the 3rd. Isabella's a happy baby, and bright. I'm teaching her to give me her hands when I want to get her up from the crib or playpen. She's eating cereals, fruit and veggies now. I'm hoping to start with the yogurt this week.

  • Chris finally took pictures of some of the furniture. I posted them on Craigslist, but perhaps an ad in the local paper will help. If I remember correctly they offer free ads for items $99 and under. I'd post them here, too, but I don't know if anyone in the Delaware/Southern PA area is actively following my blog.

  • If Chris and I are going to make ends meet we will definitely need a roommate, even if he manages to get a job quickly. Lucky for us there are two-bedroom apartments within my budget. We're still going to have to go on food stamps for as long as we can swing it.

I'm not sure if I want a male or female roomie, though. Each has advantages and disadvantages, although I think a gay male would be the most fun.

As for the location, I saw a couple of places that may or may not be within my budget. I'll look into them further once I've saved enough for a deposit and first month.
  • I've had a story stuck in my head for a while now, but it's very thin. I really need to sit down and work on at least an outline.

work, updates, chris, money, life, family
