My stepbrother is in Baltimore for a few months. My stepfather came to visit him and they dropped by today.
We ended up going to Philadelphia for the Auto Show, us following their rental car. Stepbro's driving was... well, it's been a while since I saw my husband lose his temper like that, especially after WE got a speeding ticket just for trying to keep them in sight.
I did take the matter up with them and they're paying the ticket. Still it's another blow against Chris, he's going to have to take a defensive driving course to get the points on his license back to semi-normal.
The Auto Show was pretty good, there are some great new models. The best part was having Chris car-talk someone else's ears off for a change.
My favorite car was the new Volvo C30 hatchback. It has a 2.5-liter 218-horsepower turbocharged inline-5 and a six-speed manual (I want the optional 5-speed automatic), front McPherson strut/rear multilink suspension... oh my god I sound like Chris now. Time to stop!
After the Auto Show tour we had a very late lunch at one of the little restaurants in Chinatown. Roast pork lo mein? WOOT! It had been months since I had decent Chinese food.
My fortune cookie said "You will profit greatly from medical research." Only if I rent myself out as a test subject... which might not be such a bad idea. Hmmmmm.
Driving home was easier since we could make our own way. My feet ended up sore because my socks were the wrong type for so much walking, but it's nothing a foot soak and rub with lotion couldn't fix. I feel better now.
I only wish I knew who else is hiding from the Stupor Bowl...
