Some things you clearly needed to know:

1] I just realised the river on our doorstep, the Croal, runs through Manchester and ends up in the Mersey. So, in a way, I live a couple of feet from the Mersey. This amuses me endlessly.

2] I feel old when the only one of my friends not doing an exam this week is a teacher.

3] Nothing has ever made me cringe quite as much as this poor bint (ta to ssdd3 for that link ^^)

4] The phrase "To put clothing on your back" is bothering me. Surely, the first place you'd need clothes for is the groin area? Something to cover your back just seems a low priority to me. I mean, how many people do you know would reply the question "What one piece of clothing do you need most?" with "Hmm, that would have to be... a cloak!"

5] I want a cloak.

Across America, Part 4:
Walker, 2:55pm: I think I've been in Walker so long, I've forgotten where I live. Every now and then I'd flown out and back again in all manner of aircraft, testing them out for later stages of my trip. Most of them were special custom jobs, the majority came from here. Finally, I got a chance to head off so it was back to the skies in a Mooney Bravo, a name that for some reason amuses me to no end. Unfortunately, I'd somehow forgotten from my testing that the Mooney has no autopilot, and I didn't have much time to spare to keep my full concentration on flying. Therefore it'd have to be another short trip; but thanks to the speed of the Bravo, I was a third of the way across Colorado when I came in for a sweet, if cloud-ridden, landing at Eagle County.

Later I returned to the scene, cracked my knuckles and brought out the new toy. This time I was going to cover some distance; and what better way than with an F-15J, the Japanese variant of the famed American interceptor? This thing was rather quick. Colorado looks ace, don't get me wrong, but I wanted to move on. And move I did! It wasn't long before Denver loomed up ahead. I looked at my map and sure enough, I was two-thirds of the way to Nebraska. I looked up again and Denver was somewhere behind me. Oops.
But in any case, I wasn't going to land at Denver. I was going to land at Akron. No, not Akron, Ohio; a smaller Akron on the north-east edge of Colorado. For those who are wondering, Akron (the OH one) was the home and name of the US Navy's enourmous 785ft airship, otherwise known as Z-RS4. Launched in 1931, it's a legend of Airship history, so I thought it'd be appropriate to make a stop at Akron CO. I wonder if warfare, even daily life, would be much different today if the ol' airship had've had better luck.
