(no subject)
Well, finally I'll have something to do. Tomorrow I jump back into classes, and I couldn't be more eager to do so right now. I'm going crazy trying to think of things to do, since most of the people I hang out with have just gotten back late tonight from their breaks. And the most important one is STILL gone, and will be till late Thursday! At least I get to tell all her friends about the cool stuff she's getting to do, since I'll see them all week in various classes.
Amanda was actually able to call me today, so I got to hear her voice for about a half hour (woulda been a LOT longer if she was on her own phone, but it doesn't get service down in LA, at least not that she doesn't want to pay out her nose for). She's pretty much done recording, except for a last hour and a half tomorrow, then she's off to Disneyland for a few days. As it turns out, she's apparently getting paid like 4 times as much as the other girls that got called in to do backup stuff ($1000 as opposed to $250). It turns out that's what Amanda's doing mostly as well, but she's got a lot more on there than the next girl. Often times they recorded some stuff with other girls, then decided they didn't like how they sounded, and when she volunteered to try it out, they loved it and kept it in. It really ticked off one of the girls there, who doesn't exactly sing very well but her parents pay 1500 bucks a month for the manager to do stuff with her (and 44000 dollars for him to cut a CD with her). What's funnier is that the same manager is Amanda's manager, and neither she nor her family has to pay a cent to get him to work with her-- something about him wanting to be the guy credited with bringing out an Asian pop star (it kinda puts dollar signs in his eyes, so he's more than happy to manage her).
But enough bragging for tonight. I'm going to attempt to go to bed now, about 3+ hours earlier than I have been for pretty much the entire break...
