Met up with Kate from roller derby to go on a ride exploring the trails on the west side. She overslept, so I rode around for a few miles while waiting. We met on the Pedestrian Bridge and went over to the Wabash Heritage Trail to take it down to South River Road. We took that to US 231, That's a busy highway, but it's new, and has a very wide shoulder, so riding wasn't much of a problem. After a while, we switched over to a bike trail that ran alongside the highway, and that made it even easier. We turned down Lindberg road and got on the trail going though Celery Bog. After that, we rode on more trails through West Lafayette, including one wrong turn which required a double-back. We went over to Salisbury, and eventually down to Happy Hollow Park to roll down that trail. We made our way back to the Wabash Heritage Trail and back to the Pedestrian Bridge. Kate treated me to lunch at Red Seven, and I rolled home.
I had planned on doing my Run for the Border again today, but flaked out on it in favor of sleeping in. While catching up on Sleep was needed, I really should keep my committments to myself. Bad Raccoon.
