Chapter 26

The annual anniversary festival had ended in a blink of eye and now the school had gone back to its boring state again. There’s no more colorful decoration, no more weird costumes, no loud music, nothing! The classes also had been tidied up to their original state, much to student’s disappointment. The fun had officially ended.

Saga looked to the sunny sky outside through the big window with sleepy eyes while his hand busy covering his mouth to hide his yawn. Class was boring as usual. The old bald teacher was babbling about historical moments, samurai, shogun, etc. He didn’t really care about what happened in the past. It’s the future he should work on.

A few tables away from him, he saw his popular friend scribbled something excitedly on his book. Without further thinking, Saga knew that Shou was writing for his own story again. His best friend always had the same look on his face when he did that. It’s seemed like he got a present he craved so much or to be exact it’s the same expression he always wore every time he’s with Hiroto. His eyes were shining and his face lit up with excitement.

Bored, Saga turned his gaze again. This time he watched longingly to the door, hoping the teacher would be done with his babbling soon and got out from the class. He was startled though when through the small window on the door, he saw a familiar dark haired guy passed by.

His thought immediately flew to the moment when Tora surprised him with his ‘you’re beautiful’ at the festival. The way Tora said it made him shivered. That guy really knew how to push his button and stupid him for not being able to contain his smile for the rest of the day. People even asked him why he looked so goofy back then.

“Saga?”

Saga even could still feel his heart racing every time he remembered Tora’s voice. Tora’s closeness was really haunting him. God, how could he forget him when the other boy still practically had his mind and heart within his grip?

“Saga!”

Surprised, Saga almost fell from his chair for jumping so suddenly. Shou was laughing at his expression. “What?” Saga asked, annoyed.

Shou jumped up to sit on Saga’s table. “What are you daydreaming about? The teacher had gone for five minutes but you still had this faraway look on your face,” he teased.

“Not your business,” Saga stuck out his tongue childishly to his friend.

“You’re not fun!” Shou pouted. “Whatever, I’m going to have lunch with my lovely boyfriend. Do you want to join us? You seem to be missing at every lunch lately.”

Saga shrugged but didn’t answer.

“Whatever, I’m sure Tora would be there.”

**

For the thousand times, Saga cursed himself in his mind. Just the mention of his crush’s name was enough to make his feet follow Shou by himself against his mind. He sighed again as Shou dragged Pon to buy some food or whatever, Saga didn’t really pay any attention to his surrounding, leaving him with a goofy Nao who was talking excitedly to him ever since he stepped his foot to the canteen.

Just as he about to ask Nao to stop talking because it began to make his head hurt, Tora came to their table and threw his butt to the seat beside Saga. Saga rubbed his forehead pathetically. Things just kept getting worse.

“Tora-shi!”

Well, at least now that there’s other person than Saga, finally Nao would stop bothering him.

“Tora-shi! Sagacchi is ignoring me!” Nao pouted.

Tora laughed. The sound sent a tingling feeling to Saga’s stomach. He was too busy avoiding the taller boy that he hadn’t seen or heard his laugh for a long time.

“What did you do, Nao?” he heard Tora asked.

“Nothing! I was just talking to him…” Nao trailed off and Saga could picture him glaring at the older boy.

He heard a shuffle of chair and felt a pair of eyes boring into him. “So why are you ignoring him?” he heard Tora asked him, his fingers playing with Saga’s hair absentmindedly.

Saga shrugged. He didn’t let out a sound because he knew he would squeak out if he opened his mouth. He needed his personal space to think clearly. How could Tora playing with his hair with ease like that, Saga wouldn’t know. The only thin that he knew was that the other was making him go nuts! Mustering his strength, Saga moved away from Tora. Unfortunately for him though, Tora was on stubborn mood today so he followed Saga every time the blond moved away.

Nao was watching the interaction between the two silently. It was amusing to watch he must say. It was like watching Hiroto and Shou when the playboy would make a move and Hiroto tried to stay far away from him. With a wistful grin plastered on his lips, Nao stood up. “I have to go now, guys. See you later!” he winked at both of them before bounced away from the table.

“I’m coming with you!” Saga quickly jumped off his seat to follow his shorter friend but Nao pushed him back onto his seat.

“No way! You just stay here!” he tsked at Saga. He grabbed Tora’s hand and put it around Saga’s wrist. “There! Tora, make sure he doesn’t run away again!” Nao said cheerfully and within seconds, he left them with a grin and a wave.

“You can let go of my hand now, you know,” Saga said, looking pointedly at the hand that still circling his thin wrist.

Tora didn’t remove his hand. From Saga’s eyes, the older boy seemed to be thinking about something. Well, if Tora wasn’t willing to release his hand, he could do it himself, the blond thought as he tried to jerk his wrist free from the other’s hold. “Tora…” he growled when the pressure around his wrist intensified.

“I’ll let you go in one condition,” Tora said quietly. He turned to look into Saga’s burning eyes. “Go out with me this weekend.”

Saga went still when he heard the request. “What?” he just had to ask Tora one more time.

Tora patted Saga’s wrist with his free hand. “You heard me,” he murmured.

“You’re blackmailing me? I thought only Shou would do such low thing,” Saga turned his face away from Tora.

“Since you wouldn’t even stay and talk to me decently I have no other choice, don’t I?” The dark haired man chuckled. “Don’t compare me with that friend of yours. I’m not as low as him.”

“Please,” Saga rolled his eyes.

“So your answer?” Tora asked and Saga finally looked back at him.

**

“You only eat that?” Shou frowned when he saw what were on his boyfriend’s food tray.

“I’m not hungry,” Hiroto replied calmly, trying to cover his tray with his other hand.

“No way! I know for a fact that you didn’t eat any breakfast today,” Shou shook his head. “And don’t try to hide your tray behind your back, Pon. I’ve seen it.”

Pouting, Hiroto stop trying to hide the content of his tray, which was small chocolate bread and nothing else. “I’m not hungry, really.” He persisted but just as he finished saying that, his stomach betrayed him by making a loud embarrassing voice.

“Ha, I know it!” Shou said smugly. “I told you, it’s not healthy to eat so little,” he scolded, reaching out for a chicken bento for Hiroto.

“No, I’m fine really,” Hiroto said stubbornly, putting the bento back to its place on top of the table.

Shou grab it back and put it on Hiroto’s tray but for the second time, Hiroto put it back again. Being, a stubborn person himself, Shou took the bento again but Hiroto kept returning it to its place. They did this ‘war’ for five minutes before a panting Shou glared at his small chipmunk.

“Is there any reason that you don’t want to eat?” Shou asked suspiciously.

“Nothing!” Hiroto answered a little too quickly which made Shou even more suspicious.

“You better tell me before I do something unwanted,” the blond threatened.

Hiroto looked up at Shou daringly. “Like what?” he challenged.

Smirking, the blond lowered his face so their faces were really close. “I could kiss you right here, right now,” he whispered with a seductive tone.

The small boy flushed and jumped back quickly. “You-you wouldn’t dare,” he stammered, obviously frightened by the threat.

“Try me,” Shou said, licking his lips while looking at Hiroto’s lips.

“Fine, you win,” Hiroto spat. Why he couldn’t win against Shou even just once? Curse Shou and his speaking ability. “There’s something I want to buy so I was trying to save up money by reducing my eating cost,” Hiroto finally said the truth, fidgeting a bit as he wait for his boyfriend’s response.

“Just because of that?! What do you want to buy? Maybe I can help you to buy it. There’s no need to starve yourself to death, you know?” Shou couldn’t believe that the reason Hiroto eat so little was so he could buy something! What’s more important than the health of himself?

Hiroto shook his head fervently, “No, this is something I want to buy personally. Please understand. This is something I want real badly.”

Shou could see that Hiroto was serious and there was no way he could force Hiroto to do what he wanted. Ever since they were together, this was the first time Hiroto said so openly that he wanted something. Who was he to stop his selfless boyfriend?

“Fine, but I’ll buy you this bento and you have to eat it or else,” the ex playboy threatened again.

Feeling relief that Shou seemed to understand him, Hiroto couldn’t help but let out a little smile. “or else what?” he teased.

Shou grinned at that, “You don’t want to know, trust me~”
