A brilliant analogy

A thought occurs: Each of the provinces of Hyrule (as it looks in Twilight Princess) corresponds to one of the provinces of Canada. How so? Well...

Ordon: Sort of distant from the rest of the country, both physically and philosophically; this is the land where people live in the middle of nature, among the mountains and forests. BC.

Eldin: It might not be the biggest or most impressive, but bottom line, it can take care of itself, because its natural resources are a good source of economic stability; there's also cowboys and Indians. Alberta.

Lanayru: For lack of a less stupid way to put it, large and in charge; the biggest province, the most urban and populous one, the one where the capital is located, the one that therefore thinks the world revolves around it. Ontario.

Snowpeak: Snow and peaks, but also a surprising amount of wealth; I bet there's gold in them thar hills. Yukon.

Desert: Basically uninhabitable, it continues to exist more as a tribute to a long dead culture than because it actually contributes anything to the current dominant race. Nunavut.

(Really, though, I think that Snowpeak is more like Whistler than anything else. Snowboarding and mansions? Come on.)
