"The ultimate meaning to which all stories refer has two faces: the continuity of life, the inevitability of death." Comedy and tragedy.
For seven books, we dealt with the inevitability of death. Voldemort is desperate to become immortal, Harry watches his loved ones die for him over and over again. Both of them, however, utterly reject the inevitability of death.
Then, when Harry faces it personally, he understands what the story of the Deathly Hallows was really about, and he accepts it. And when he accepts it...well, we all know what happens next.
The truth is that only by accepting the inevitability of death can we acheive the continuity of life--The happiness and satisfaction that comes with the characteristic comedy ending of marriage and family.
