Got up early this morning (couldn't sleep...I dunno) and got online, checking all my Harry Potter websites. First one is JK Rowling.com; she rarely updates ('cause she's busy writing!), but when she does, it's good.
She updated today.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Gallows will be published on Saturday 21st July at 00:01 BST in the UK and at 00:01 in the USA. It will also be released at 00:01 BST on Saturday 21st July in other English speaking countries around the world.
This caught me totally by surprised. For a split second, I didn't believe it, until I remembered that this is her official website and so everything it says is true.
OH MY GOD.
On July 21, I will know it all. Everything there is to know about Harry Potter. The series will be FINISHED. After July 21, I can die happy, because I will have acheived some pretty awesome life goals: I will have been to China, competed in the trials for a major international meet, competed at senior nationals, finished Twilight Princess, finished the Cave of Ordeals, and finished the entire Harry Potter series.
(Oh...I still won't have a degree, and if I had picked it up, I could have... Oh, well.)
Let the countdown begin! 170 days!
(I have to summon my mind back from Hyrule before then. That's going to be quite a task, but Harry Potter should be able to manage it.)
