[Squall heaves a sigh and hangs his head. The next haiku comes out in a very resigned mumble.]

The worst part of it
Is wasting so many words
Just to say 'shut up.'

[Looking put-upon, Squall just kind of... waves a hand at Rinoa. He can't actually say 'whatever' without having to make up a whole haiku, but he does his best to look it, anyway.]

Okay, okay, I'm sorry. It must be hard to speak like that. [she snorts a little, considering she can just feel that 'whatever', and then tilts her head to one side. Hmmm. Squall still looks pretty grumpy, in her opinion, and so she decides to fix it and presses her lips to his mouth]

[she would laugh at his nervousness, but... that would probably be uncomfortable right now. So she settles for looping her arms lightly around his neck instead. She's kind of really nervous herself, but does a slightly better job at hiding it]

[He sits still for a little longer before, hesitantly, he puts his arms around her, and she can feel a breath go out of him. He could probably construct a haiku around 'thanks' if he had to, but maybe she'll let him get away with this instead.]
